If Gainey could ever weed-out the problems in the dressing room before the deadline and lead the Habs to a first round match-up versus Ottawa than Dominic Hasek’s words from last night would make it sooooo easy for the Habs to get energized!
How stupid is Hasek to come out and publicly mock a team like that?
Has Dom not seen what has happened to Ottawa in the first round lately???
Bob should QUIETLY clip these quotes out of today’s Ottawa Sun and file them away before getting a few trades done, especially since we know that the Habs CAN beat Ottawa!
Imagine Bob-o handing that framed quote to Hasek following the series with a BIG JUICY kiss on the cheek!!!
He said it was the easiest shutout he has had and the easiest game since he was 10 years old and that really, it was so bad it should not count as a shutout.
All he did was speak the truth. That team is laughing at Montreal and rightly so. Know what the sad part is? There is no one on that team with enough pride to use it as incentive or motivation.

They basically played the same vs Philly, didn't they? Anyway, Haysack was right, it was easy. But what did the Habs have to say in return? Anyone catch Habs press after the game?

Well if you read my other post, Gainey indicated that the refs took the game away from them. Ya..right.

I think we all forget how Ottawa was the whipping boy of the NHL for their first 5 years and they got laughed at almost everyday (Although, I'm sure the Habs dropped a few to them). I have no problem with the Dominator's comments, because he was right and that game was a joke. There are probably a few guys on this site who could have backstopped Ottawa to a shut-out. The Habs should be embarassed and take that fire into Saturday nights tilt against the Toronto A-holes.

I agree with you. That was one of the most pathetic performances from ANY team I have ever seen and it was a joke so should be treated as such. We will see what this team is made of Saturday night. If they come back with some fight and pride then all is not lost. However if they simply go with the satus quo and go through the motions we are done.

Actually I watched the 7-o game too and as crazy as it sounds, Toronto put on a better show in that game then Montreal did last night. The key difference was that Toronto did not get the goaltending on that night that Huet provided Montreal last night. But I know Toronto had alot more shots on Ottawa than 12

My fading memory might be failing right now, but wasn't it against Montreal that Ottawa won it's first game after rejoining the league? Don't know why, but that seems like a fresh memory to me.

You are correct...I think they went on to win 7 out of their next 81 and thus setting the new low for futility. The modern-era Habs are starting to be associated with futility (new franchise low in shots last night!!!)

I recall that one. Sens won their first franchise game, I believe 5-3, against the Habs. I was on vacation in Vermont at the time, and remember reading all about it in the Montreal Gazette and being quite disgusted about the loss to an expansion team. Montreal won the Cup that year, so it's OK.
