Good post Nil! Barely a hand full of players made the roster in the last 5 yrs!

Very sad! Especially the last two drafts! Kotitsyn and brother may be the only two that make a difference!

Gainey may have to start trading drafts for proven players!

And of that 1999 crowd, I didn't even recognize a single name!  Who the hell is leading the scouting on this team????

And to think how high Zetterberg was left off the sheets lol. Its not just the Habs, most of the time its the later rounders who make the difference. Why? Because top draft picks are usually shuttled their way to the NHL right away, and for a lot of players its a big jump, and they can't adjust, instead you send them to the farm leagues right away to get them in the groove. Or else you have Alexander Daigle, Radek Bonk, and the list goes on. Alot of pressure is put on these people who are drafted low in the 1st couple of rounds. But man, 1999 is brutal......

Looks like 94 (Roy, Corson..) was a decent crop. And 2001 looks good with Komisarek, Perezhogin, Plekanec, Archer (not all lost causes, right.)

So, I say trade picks for players. Looks like it's foolish not to lol.

Oh.  I did not know that Stevie Wonder was the Senior Vice President of Player Personnel and Head of College and International Scouting.  That's interesting.

that was a great read.
reminds me of the movie Major League. Management tries to build a losing team so they can re-locate . they give the manager a list of potential players that nobody has ever heard of, and some are even dead......maybe we have the same scouts.....
