Bulis Trade Rumour
Permalink Closed

The following is reported on Spector's website:

Hat tip to "Monsieur Pinpin" for the following on the Canadiens: "I just read an article on RDS.ca which is signed PC (Canadian Press). Gainey confirms that he spent a good portion of his day with Pierre Gauthier, pro scouting director.

This leads to believe, along with the call up of Ivanans and the waiver pick of Downey that something is up. Not much for a rumour, but just another piece of information."

"Benjamin" adds: "I just want to inform you about something real strange going on in Montreal today...

Jan Bulis is a healthy scratch for tonight's game against Philly... It's kinda strange considering that Bulis has been one of our best players in the last 10-15 games. Ivanans will take his place in the line-up.

From what I've heard, Bulis might be traded along with a number 2 or 3 draft pick or another player for Tyler Arnason... It's a realistic trade and that's why I thought you'd like to know...

Anyway there is no reason to scratch a fast player like Bulis, who's giving 100% all the time, has been your best player lately... specially when you play against a big team like philly, where your speed can make the difference..."

As much as I like Bulis, if that rumour were in fact true, I would trade him for Arnason in a second.  Arnason is a better scorer and still adds some feistiness.

And has been our best forward in the past ten games (which isn't saying much, I agree.........).

Why not threaten to trade all of them prior to the next game?!

After a stellar game, their market value does go up, and if you have any inside info (which you should since you are GM) it would be the perfect time for a trade if the player you know of has something bothering him or has recently had a dispute. However I think Bulis should stay, unless you get a top 2 line power foward (not directly 1 for 1). Just saying how it normally plays out if Bulis goes on a hot streak

I'd trade Zeddy for Arnason, straight up...

I like Zednik but when he's not playing with the puck all by himself, he's floating.  Sure he scores goals but normally the spoon-fed variety...

Arnason is exactly the farmboy-type centreman required in MTL, agreed.

ps. 24 Rings: your family and friends fear you may have a slight dependence on BlogsBlogsBlogs...

Arnason might have lots of talent, but he is a pretty-boy with serious attitude problems. Also, he doesn't seem to like to work hard. He might have grown up in Manitoba, but he did so far from the farm. The guy went to the same nice, posh private school as my wife (nothing against private schools -- I went to one). I'm just saying that he wasn't up at 4am milking the cows in -40C.

good to know... man, we got more insiders on this Blog site than the Habs organization !?

Still, we need big semi-skilled centreman and in order to get a good player, you normally have to give up a good player. Bulis is a solid/skilled/responsible all-around player who would be a tough loss though...

I wonder if Gainey might be able to pry Brendan Morrow from the Stars ??? He's be great...

Maybe BG can get his daughter to withhold sexual favours to get Morrow to move?

Redlight I totally agree with you, it made ticked off when someone mentioned he was riding the pine.  The guy flat out hustles and is one of the quickest guys in the league!   When he was playing in Barrie the guy scored 43 goals, his hands just need to be a little softer in the NHL.  Jan still keeps in touch with his billets in Barrie, and they say he loves playing in Montreal and knows how important the History and everything else that goes with the Habs thats why he busts his hump every game.  Trade Zednik if were going to trade anyone, the floater who is supposed to put the puck in the net hasn't done anything.  I've personally lost all hope for him.  When was the last time he scored a goal!

Bulis did great in Europe last year, and scored a lot of goals. Interesting, because a lot of players go down in point totals there (it's not a high-scoring scene)...for some reason he hasn't put it together in the NHL, but maybe it's just a confidence thing? If so, hey, that game might do the trick.
