Very impressed with the effort Mtl put in during tonights game. Bulis needless to say was awesome, too bad if he is eventually traded as he's not the one I'd like to go (before his performance tonight).
Huet was a little shakey at first, but played a solid game as a whole. good to see what an average goalie can do for a teams confidence . . . Huet should be the starter for the for the next few games as far as I'm concerned.
Good win, right in Philly . . . as far as our next two games, all I care about is a win Saturday in Toronto . . . Theo better not be the starter in that game.
Huet is looking very shaky so far in my book. That second goal was very stoppable.
Well, he rebounded pretty well, I'd say, and made the stops when necessary - and Bulis took care of the other end. Huet deserves to start the next one, IMHO.
A great "W" for the boys, and the orangutan is off their backs with a road win, finally.
Funny what one win will do for one's confidence, eh? I feel optimistic again!

Amazing what 60 minutes of pure hustle will do. Despite another sloppy start by our netminder, the team didn't quit. It may even have caused them to work harder. Great game by the youngsters -- Higgins, Pleks, Komisarek. Great game by Begin. And also Downey - he hits hard, plays his position, and can move pretty well for a tough guy. Captain K was a factor. Zeds stepped up his game a mile an hour or two. Ryder worked hard. And how about Rivet? Rock solid -- and the move he made up the boards on the second goal freed up the slot so that Bulis could go there and get an open shot. It's great to see him and Cube being more mobile on offense and forcing things in that end. As for Bulis, he should be off of everybody's boo-list if he wasn't before. His work paid off big time and we have him to thank for a much-needed win. This calls for another beer.
It seems pretty unanimous around this board - Huet should start next game. He was shaky in the first 10 minutes or so, but completely turned it around after that.

The one kid that disappoints me is Komisarek. I thought he was going to be a great one, but he been awful this year. I'll cut him some slack, given his personal problems - losing your mother at that age is tough - but I have not seen much to cheer about from him this year. He should hit more and shoot more. Zero goals in over 100 career games is not acceptable.

That is to be expected when you have not had a start in awhile. The last 2 times Gainey put him in was tough...team down substantially and you fling him into the fire in the middle of a game. I like this guy alot actually. I think he is the type that will only get better the more you pay him. Bobby. put the ego away and keep playing Huet. We can no longer afford the luxury of trying to get Theo back on track at the expense of the team.
