I might be a bit more verbose than davidb was in his 1000th (and possibly less than barry33 will be in his 1000th coming up soon!), but here goes:
First, a call for civility. I had the great pleasure this past week of meeting John Bragg, a Canadian Business Hall of Famer and owner of Oxford Frozen foods, the world's largest blueberry producer, and Eastlink Cable, which owns most of eastern Canada's cable TV and telecommunications systems. I don't remember all of Mr. Bragg's points of his corporate philosophy (delivered at the business event I attended), but I remember the first two points: 1. Respect for others, and 2. Civility in the workplace. Respect and civility - two good buzzwords for this site also, I think. We have all ages coming on here, and we'd be much worse off without the likes of Johab, who's been a valuable contributor since the age of 13. So put the carrots away.
Second, a call for information. I've said this before, but I like to know a bit about the backgrounds of the GoHabs family, and it always disappoints me when I click on the user profile and see nothing but the date they first logged on. I repect that many of you value your privacy, but a few tidbits of information - where you live, what you do, etc. - would be nice.
Finally, a big thank you to all of you who have sufferred through one thousand posts from your humble correspondent. I call for a group hug!
And if you'll indulge me, I'll leave you with a recent family photo:
Mrs. d, Jesse d (our four- legged "son"), and me!

Congratulations on your 1000th. You've certainly been a great contributor in quantity, quality and context. Can't wait for # 10,000.
On that note, I have to second the motion for civility, maturity and clean posts. Lately I've deleted/edited a lot to honour my word to Mario. Let's keep our carrots in the fridge and our our schticks on ice.
Finally, Nil d - the best rock and roll band name I've seen in a long while. Maybe I steal it for my own. Sure you wouldn't mind.

As stated, barry33 is comfortable with his sexuality and masculinity so will be first in line fo rthe hug. barry33 has always admired the class that Nil'd has shown in his postings and the respect for others opinions.
What this board needs more of is respect for other's opinions and to not allow your passion for the team or a particular player, to overrule common courtesy and common sense. I fully respect everyone's opinions here. However, when I state mine and am met with comments regarding my sobriety or whatever, I have an issue with that.
Nilsey-barry33 congratulates you on 1000 and we will have to get together at a Halifax pub soon and watch a game., How many Maritimers do we have here that we could get together with?

Well, there's Zulrath right here in Halifax, but I don't know that he's of age! But I'd love to meet you for a beer sometime. If your business travels bring you down here, give me a shout.
Same goes for macneil, figaro, Gary McHab (where's he lately?), NSHabFan, or any other "local".

Good one, Figgy! (Remember Figgy Duff? That was a local band - from Newfoundland, I believe.) As for "schticks", is that what Mark Streit ("Schright") plays with?

Oh come on! It wasn't even that bad!
Regardless, congrats on number 1000. If only guys like Kovy had that type of productivity.
