At the very least least this should be a wide open game with a good amount of action both ways. Montreal has to be wary of 2 lines, though, but we've got a good group of guys who are experiencing a resurgence, led by Bulis over the last 5-6 games. Will be a 2 goal game, 4-2 Habs. Bulis, Ribs, Ryder, Kovy.

The Nucks have shown a passion for intimidation and running over the oppositions star players (see Crosby in Pittsburgh and Iginla in Calgary). With no on ein the Habs lineup to answer the bell (we saw what happend with Souray in Calgary), look for Vancouver to run Koivu through the boards at every opportunity as well as Kovalev.

Yeah I can see that barry, the Knuckleheads will be roughing Kovy and Sak up all night trying to get them off their game, but if some other guys ( ZEDNIK ) step up it should amount to great game. Vancouver is using their back up goalie and missing their best d-man and a cast of others, so now would it be a good time to take advantage of them. Defensively we have to be aware they have two scoring lines. One other tidbit, the game is coast to coast on CBC so heres the time we can show CBC were worth getting on more than when were just playing the leafs! Yeah right.
For us on the east side of the country means a few more wobbly pops , should make for interesting comments on the site after the game. I could be funny or down right nasty!!!!
The Zednik, Bonk & Bulis line was absolutely flying in Calgary! They need to continue this and bury a few of their chances...and continue to help-out defensively.
I agree...also think Murray should sit for seventh D-man Cote! Our D needs more support on this long road trip against physical teams especially! Our fourth line is always broken up anyway with Ribs getting PP time! Why not spot big Ryder on the fourth or Kovy time to time with Ribs? Just a thought!
I think the boys can take this game. It will be close, but with a solid effort, it is possible. I think the key is taking advantage of speed. I know Gainey has said he wants to use speed to our advantage, so this will be the perfect opportunity, I think. If the guys can stick to the gameplan, I smell a win.
VANCOUVER – Tonight marks the Canadiens’ final regular season contest against a Western Conference opponent for 2005-06, as they visit the Vancouver Canucks at GM Place. It’s the second game of six straight on the road for Montreal, who kicked off the trip with a 3-2 loss to Calgary on Thursday.
The Canucks are riding a three-game winning streak heading into tonight’s matchup, after topping the Buffalo Sabres 4-1 Thursday. The win kept Vancouver tied with the Flames for the Northwest Division lead. After tonight’s contest, Marc Crawford’s crew will head out on the road for seven and won’t be back home until Feb. 6.
It’s the only meeting of the season between Montreal and Vancouver. The Canucks hold the edge, having won seven of the last eight matchups, with the eighth game ending in a tie. The Canadiens will be looking for their first win against their hosts since November 30, 2000.
East vs. West: The Canadiens, who aren’t facing the Central Division at all this season, will be aiming for a win to put them above .500 against Western Conference foes this year (4-4-1). Tonight’s tilt is also the final one for the Canucks against the Eastern Conference. They’ve been successful against the East, with an 8-1-0 record, including a perfect 4-0 against the Northeast Division.
Captain K: With a goal and an assist against the Flames Thursday, Saku Koivu is now averaging a point per game this season, with 34 points in 34 contests. Saturday’s date with the Canucks will be the 16th of Koivu’s career. He’s racked up 14 assists in those games but is still in search of his first goal against them. It’s the only team, excluding Minnesota and Columbus who joined the NHL in 2000-01, against which Koivu has yet to score.

I totally agree with you, They got Jarkko Ruutu for instance who is capable of cheap tackles and all kinds of cheap tricks to get opposite players angry and frustrated. So BG should promote Ivanis or Vandermeer or both to play against of these kind players, then we could avoid those kind of situations that Souray or Rivet is forced to fight, because we need those guys in rink whole game.
Kelly Hrudy was just on CBC discussing the Habs. He believes the coaching change was a good thing. He said nothing against CJ but it was the right move. He also stated that half the team didn't show up against Calgary which shouldn't happen at this level. He thinks that if Theodore can't turn the season around and win some games for the Habs before the Olympic break, that he will be moved.

He is right on all accounts John. It was the right move firing CJ as something had to be done to stop the bleeding. He is also right about the team not showing up and that not acceptable at this level. But this has been teh habs problem 75% of the time this season.

Trade the team, they stink! Don't know what else to say. There are no positives.
May be the worst thing I have seen in all my years watching hockey. What a horrific mess. I don't know what to say. That should never happen in the NHL. That period looked as if the canucks were playing some Bantom rep team!!
Boys, this is a chemistry problem. You can tell everyone on this team hates each other. Whoa Gainey has his work cut out for him...I don't know whether to feel sorry for him or hate him at the momment...
