While browsing NHL.com and looking at team stats, I note that the Habs are 10th overall in the league in power play %. Not bad. Then I sorted it by Home % versus Away %, and this is what I found: the Habs are:
Third best in the NHL in Home %
- and -
Third worst in the NHL in Away %
Like Robert DeNiro would say, analyse that!

My guess is the Habs last two home games in which I believe they went 7 for 12 or something like that merely skyrocketed their powerplay percentage. And both those games were played on home ice.

Actually Nilsey, I looked back at the PP percentages and stats from years past. I think what you are seering this year in the "New NHL" is alot more PP opportunities league wide. This makes it a much more volatile statistic. A team can go from bottom to top and vice versa in about 2 weeks because the gap now is not that great.

Jedah and Barry both hit great points. The last 2 home games certainly had an impact. And with the increase in PPs, there is bound to be a wild variance. Like returning your empties, it makes cents.
