Ryan Walter mentioned that Koivu was playing with no energy and not effective!

It sure looked like he was skating through water! Is Gainey working him too hard at?

And-o, you mentioned early on that by seasons end Bonk would take over top centerman duties and you took alot of flack for this comment and especially because Bonk was not playing well! To give you credit you are looking more right under Gainey's direction! Bonk played alot in key situations and looked way more effective than Koivu! I know it's only been three games but look for this pattern to continue. Saks will lose more and more energy as the season continues! With the Olympics around the corner, Saks won't get a much needed rest!

Problem is will Gainey be able to rest him late in the season if Habs are fighting for their playoffs lives?

Yeah, Walter mentioned Koivu's lethargy a couple of times and it was very noticeable. One time, there was a Calgary 3 on 2 and Saks did nothing to get back to cover, even though he was within fifteen feet of one of the Flames players. Is he bothered by an injury that we don't know about? Or is he trying to make some sort of statement? If the latter, I'd say it's time for the Habs to trade their captain again. We need this guy to make plays, set up goals, and work some magic. None of that was in evidence in Calgary.

He lost all my respect with how he "dealt" with the Julien firing and it is evdient that, as Julien had "lost the room", so now has Saku.

I was at the game and noticed the same sluggish effort from Saks... something tells me his groin is still bothering him. 2pts though, let's not tear the 'C' off his jersey so fast !

Rumour has it Ryan Walter is still bitter about Koivu wearing his Numero Onze.... Pierre MaGuire told me dat...

I am over it trust me. But it exposed some major problems and on that team..as in lack of leadership..and if you listen to the so called experts in hockey they say the same thing. So take the blinders off. Julien was canned and deservedly so. WHat peeves me off ar ethe guys left in his wake who are being given a free ride..

Really sorry I questioned "the great one". It will not happen again.

No really, no drinking at work.  I hear where you arw coming from Barry. The team is in need of something. I think we need to surround our better players with something. What we have been doing is getting rid of these players or not bringing in any help. BG thought he was bringing in help with Kovy but it seems we need more.

I think if Theo is at the top of his game and we have our defence together we should be ok.

I say that 1+1 is effective enough at least in the offensive end, but maybe he lacked some energy and effectiveness on his defensive play. He is only one man he canīt be best player at both ends of the rink every game. He isnīt a superman, yeah he wears "C" on his jersey and you expect him to be superman or miracle man. but he isnīt. He is let say little above average level center.

I agree with those who are trading him of, because it would help both ones, because he has lost respect among the some fans and teammates and he has never been respected among the some fans and teammates(because of these CJ and Ribs incidents and some other reasons)

If and when BG trades Saks for 3rd round pick or some other ovr the hill center or Dman, because he isnīt worth more. Then Habs lacks 1st and 2nd line centers, unless Ribs and Bonk canīt get their sh#t together in their heads. If they can do that, there is still lack of solid 1st line center.
