The Olympics are quickly approaching and I thought I would get the ball rolling with comments and thoughts about the Hockey competition.

What I am really looking forward to see:

1-Amazing hockey!!!! With very few exceptions, this is going to be one helluva tournament with most teams loaded with talent.

2-Evgeni Malkin.  This kid is supposed to be the next real deal.  I missed his games at WJC, including gold medal game.

3-The difference between how the NHL refs and the international refs call a game.  And the difference between how they call a game at the Olympics and how they call one in the NHL. (I know, there are only 4 refs and 4 linesmen)

4-And of course, Canada winning the gold.

After looking at some of the rosters, look out for Slovakia.  If they can get some unexpected goaltending, they will be a force to reckon with.  I think they are the dark horse team.
