The main diffs bet'wn the Gainey & Julien Habs...

And-o doesn't want to draw the ire of one Barry33...but there are some obvious upgrades that have taken place these past few games under Bob-o & Carb-o!  So, while And-o acknowledges the class and dignity which CJ has exhibited while bowing out...And-o sure is one happy freak'in camper right now!!!  And-o's Peterborough Ontario roots are showing!!!!!!


First, and foremost, notice the basic philosophy of the Habs now is to simply advance the puck FORWARD as much as possible (vs. always looking for the picture perfect break-out).


Second, UP-TEMPO!!! (puck movement, puck possession & short shifts).


Third, OPPORTUNITY for individual talent to shine! (eg.  Souray has a cannon - get him a shot, Bulis has wheels - throw the puck up and out and let him chase it down, Kovy can stick-handle in a phonebooth - give him ice).


...this team, while it needs some obvious help in the middle (and a top 3 d-man), isn't going to roll over and play patsy to ANYONE...ANYMORE...EVER!


BRAV-O BOB-O & CARB-O!!!  BRAV-O!!!

And- O you are not drawing the ire from me. Like my buddy, I have moved on. I agree with you. However I will say this. None of what you say as differences would be possible without the guys actually showing up and making an e-f-f-o-r-t. Power Play, first on puck. Penalty Kill- first on puck. Puck movement and advancement...move your feet. That is the key difference buddy. We are not an overly talented nor deep team and when we go to bed and do not show up, as has been the case in the past month, we are a very ordinary hockey club. But when the effort is there we can compete. Let us keep one other thing in mind too. We were outshot 35-16 last night. Not a dominating performance. But, for a change, we capatalized on opportunities. The PP for one (again, second effort, first on puck) I too feel good for a change. Just shame we have a bunch of guys who show up when they feel like it and poor team leadership.


Difference is that because these overpaid "athletes" are now scared of losing their jobs, they are listening to the guy behind the bench.  Ironic how Robiero has the gall to go on the tv and say "Well the biggest thing is that we are now taking shorter shifts and are fresh". HUHHHHH?!?? CJ screamed at you to get off the ice. But now BG does not have to scream because he signs your check buddy. barry33 like it

Is it "fear" or "respect"???


Is it "effort" or "a renewed labor of love"???


Is it "gall" or "admiration"???


Regardless, And-o sees a HUGE shift here UPWARDS!


Perhaps CJ is a better mentor for youth than experience, whereas Carb-o and Bob-o are examples to youth AND experience!?!?!?

Whatever the motives are And-O, as a habs fan I appreciate results first and foremost, irregardless. Only the guys on the team know what the motives are and since most seem unwilling to look in a mirror then w eare left to guess. Go Habs.
