Does anybody remember him rolling around on the ice like he'd been shot.  Then he'd pop up crying for a penalty.  Got so bad that Burns wouldn't send the trainer out.

You sure you're not thinking this is the ugliest category?

I recall a good one against Boston in the playoffs. Man he went down, I thought he was dea. Boy he popped up and went to the bench I recall fred Cusick (Bruins TV announcer) saying something very sacrastic

How about an honourable mention in both?

I mentioned him earlier. In fact he was the first one who came to mind.

Juha Lind from the Scott Thornton trade came to mind today, but the most embarrassing would have to be Gilbert Dionne and his me, me, me parade.  And btw, Carbonneau was traded for Jim Montgomery, pretty sad case himself.  Also, what about Baron Von Pylon, as one of the worst defenseman and who was knocked out with one punch in his first fight for the Habs!  Oh what a sad, but humourous list we are compiling...  :)

yeah, I couldn't agree more - BB is a stud Hab for sure ... Too bad he was such a waif he'd get injured lacing his skates up before games though....

Sergio Momesso- completely disagree with also, solely because of his GREAT name ! (and, rumour has it he cooked spaghetti for the boys every sunday night - a huge catalyst in the '86 cup victory!)

It was probably at his parents' family restaurant in Lachine where the pasta dinners were probably done also susposeably great pizza at the restaurant too.....

My choice for MEHE goes to Normand Baron who played in the early 80's and his claim to fame his was a Mtl area weightlifter/junior enforcer who could barely skate but could throw em......I remember one game against the Bruins he got tangled up with one of the Crowder boys (Keith/Bruce) - I think it was Bruce so they drop the gloves & Baron gets Crowder in a headlock under one arm and then starts pounding Crowder with his free hand - It was pretty funny/nice to see since it was a Hab doing the pounding.......

I wanted to add him to my list but couldn't think of his name.  That was a pretty sad experiment.

Thanks!

He was coach and GM of Windsor Spitfires this year until the hazing incident and fight at practice.  He was suspended as GM by the OHL for one year and coach for 10 or so games, or vice versa.  The Spits didn't feel the situation was working out, so they fired him.

He may not have been exciting, but man was he effective!  He and Bill Nyrop (for you old-timers who remember him) were cast from the same mold.

There was also the moment where he pulled some garbage on Neely and Neely just basically got up and threw him into the boards. The one time I liked Neely. I mean Lemieux was a great player, in his way, but yes, he had to be the Hab I took the most crap for when I was in high school...

How about the bonehead who crashed last week's practice?  I guess he thought he was a Hab.

To Terry Ryan's credit, he did have a career ending injury. He now (or was) coaching underpriviledged youths in nothern NFLD. I hate to be hard on the guy.

My most embarassing would have to be Patrick Roy. Just that one moment is enough for me.

I don't think I read Randy McKay (sp).  Here was a guy who was supposed to play on our first line, and had a hard time surviving on the 4th line.  Also Gino Odgyk (sp again), and Denis Savard.  Savard was a superstar in every other city he played in, but totally flopped as a hab

Problem was we got Denis about 10 years too late!

Read Figaro's post, above.  No, he wasn't much of a hockey player, but you of all people should appreciate the work Terry Ryan currently does with underpreviledged kids (I believe on Bell Island, NL).

By the way, welcome to the Board!  Great to have another Atlantic Canadian on board.
