........... something was up , the press conference I had referred to earlier was announced on team 990 Friday morning , it was all over Montreal radio by 1:00 pm Montreal time , if he hadn't been advised of it's contents ....well Stevie Wonder could see that train coming

Actually he was lead to believe that it was Bob Gainey's mid-season media update which had been scheduled some time ago. A state of the union address as it were. As far as Claude knew that was waht the press conference was for.

Again it shows the class of BG. This would have never happen under the Broffmans or Sam Pollack  I hope Gilette has some feelings about his team cut its coach.

The process of how CJ was canned was brutal but he knows how cut-throat that this game is, especially with the Montreal fans and media.


It was bad, we all feel sorry for poor CJ but his team wasn't playing for him (which shows badly on them) and he lost control.   Gainey is 1-0 as coach, in a complete stomping of SJ. He may be a prick, but he'll get results one way or the other.


In the end we all want to win.  If it means hurting a guys feelings when showing him the door, then so be it.

I agree 24. I simply wanted to point out the fact that the guy was not treated well and deserved better. But as I said in my positives post, I am happy with who we have in charge and we will turn th ecorner!!
