And how's Theo playing?  The stats look good (19 of 20 shots stopped).

He's played well. He hasn't had to be spectaculor but he's played well. The one goal that went in went off a skate and he had no chance.

3rd period looking like the trap is being played. I guess it's understandable with a 4-1 lead but we have just taken a penalty.... Let's hope it doesn't cost us.

What's with the shot total (Habs - 14 with under 10 minutes to go)?  Are they trapper or trappee?

Theo let in his first weak one and almost let in another one. Markov injured and won't be back tonight.

What's with the shots?????????!!!!!!!!!!!! 17-2 Dallas in the third?  15 shots total for the Habs?! Was it really that one-sided?  Theo must have made a few good saves?

Good work by all! Koivu won big draws against Madano! Theo still looks shaky but making the saves he should while still giving away rebounds! Hopefully he'll get on board also with a little confidence!

Stars had shots but really not many scoring chances! Love the way Habs are blocking shots! Begin is one tough cookie!

I think Souray should have stayed home for one more game, he gave away the puck four times on one shift!  Theo let in his one soft goal and gave up some bad rebounds, but he also made some saves he hasn't been making, so maybe he is also turning the corner.  One thing about Ribs, he knows where stand on a PP.  We got really sloppy in the 3rd, let's hope we can rectify that fast... maybe they burnt themselves out?  There is still a few players who need to be traded... might be a good time while we are a bit hot.

Just got back from the game.   Team was skating alot.  Sometimes in circles.  Team gave up too many shots.

I spent  alot of time watching Gainey and his body language and how he delivered instructions.  Very calm around the bench.   taps the players shoulders to direct line changes.  Reminds me a lot of his mentor ... Scotty Bowman.

I saw the highlights. Pretty nice goals(esp.Kovalevs), Ribeiro standed where the scorer should, at back post. Important saves from Theo, is he waking up?!

Theo has not really been tested the last 2 games. It ha sbeen about a total team effort and that is all. It is funny, when you look at the game as a whole, you still see alot of the bad tendencies from the past. Giveaways, allowing too many shots..and a poor period. However the difference is that thios has been overcome by a better overall work ethic. Claude must be wondering what Aliens kidnapped the players he used to watch go through the motions.

Claude is a great coach, but there is more leadership in that dressing room right now then there has been since the days we had kirk muller as captain. And lets not forget Carbo was an amazing special teams coach and defencive tactician in his first stint as assistant coach of the habs. Lets just hope the results of these past two games are a mirage because i really need to fill my playoff fix this year

But why is it up to the coaches to provide leadership in the room? I thought that was the Captain's job?

It's up to both, of course. Especially the coach. In what dreamworld is the coach not called upon for leadership?

The same dreamworld where you put a Captain's C on a player and he does not take control of a dressingroom I would guess . You are right. It is up to both. I just know from experience that the players respond to their peers much more so than a coach when it comes to dressingroom issues.
