This needs to be said about Saks!

My point is this is also cancer on a team that needs an unconditional leader! Sure on one side Ribs, Theo and Dags are to blame but who is the leader and Captain over the last ten years? Why is he not held responsible for not only a lack of point production but for questionable leadership? This gesture or slight against Ribs has also happened before during this season and last season during games! Sorry but Saks isn't exempt for the poor play of this team! He can also choose to be professional on and off the ice! There's two side to every scrap! We deserve more from our leader! And-o mentioned Mess as a great leader! Why?....Mess respected everyone on his team even the trainers or laundry staff! Have you not read all the posts on here AB? Saks is untouchable. In fact, I am fairly convinced that he has the immunity necklace from the last 4 Survivor Shows.

No one is untouchable. The fact remains that those who give it their all deserve the respect of the team, fans and media. Those who play when they feel like, don't.

When you have a guy like Ribs who smirked when CJ was fired scoring a goal, it doesn't make you feel too good because you know he was one of the jokers that cost a good coach his job.

Go ahead and bash Sak cause that's just something you do, but their is a reason that he is the captain of this team for whatever GM or coach we have had. He is also the captain of the Finnish Olympic team and World Cup team. I'm pretty sure that says something about him.

For those who have a thing for Ribs, like AB, give him a call around the Olympic break, he'll be with his gangsta buddies at one of the Hells Angels Bars doing coca and I'm not talking coffee. Maybe BG will be enlightened by the drugs and booz and name him captain cause Sak doesn't have what it takes.

Thanks John, exactly what I'm saying! I have also been critical of Ribs because I reallize he has underachieved this season..big time! But Saks is God and performed hard the whole time?..Come on John, you must of missed alot of games to be blind to how saks played and that he is just as responsible to a non-unified team!

Also prove my point by again making fun of Ribs because you don't want to think of Saks as nothing but perfect! You say I have a thing for Ribs when I clearly have stated many times he hasn't performed like last season! Did I ever say you and others have a thing for Saks?...No I'm merely stating that their is two sides to every scrap! Sure call Ribs baby and soft but should Saks not be a better example as the great leader you say he is?

What gives when he shows anger or jealousy(whatever it was) during the game when Ribs scores a goal! This is unacceptable as a captain! he should be happy for all players successes and positive play!

Is it surprising that Ribs is under achieving this season the last season they played he led the team in scoring what a surprise he was going for a new contract and now he has his contract - wait and see how he plays when it comes up for renewal - But sadly this goes on with every team in the NHL when a player gets a new or long term contract see : Yashin/Tzacuk(Blues)/Zmanhov(Bruins) although there are players with new or long term contracts who earn their pay Pronger/Hasek/Sakic/Jager(tough one to say after the last few years) - So it is just a fact of life that goes on in the NHL........Some earn their pay - some don't and become coach killers.

I know you're right about that with todays players! Was Saks also not playing for a contract that season? What happened to his production? I gather that has alot to do with his one year deal.

I'm getting off topic. My concern is with all the players this season including Saks and why some never seem to think his **** stinks! Again, it takes two groups to cause the division in the dressing room. Saks and Rivet are in one group! What I witnessed on NHL Center Ice this evening is that Koivu caught on camera demonstrating which looked like an angry expression on his face after Ribs scored! Just before that he showed alot of positive emotion when others scored! To me, it looked spitefull and juvenile! I wish for the benefit of this team that a leader would be trying to unify a broken team!

AB. Have you ever worked with a guy/girl in you carreer that just creates havoc. No matter what you or your employees try to do, that person is simply a giant jackass?? Have you ever had an employee like that?? I have.

Some of my longest standing employee's whom I trust, could not sort him out. They hated him. And looking back, with good reason.

Life can imitate sport sometimes. If a guy is truly a jackass, there is nothing anyone can do about it. Gainey quite honestly might be the only guy who can take his giant head and shrink down to an average size...thus getting him to perform as a team player like he should be.

AB, Saks is a consistent player when he plays. Check his stats, it doesn't change when his contract is coming due.

His main problem is the injury bug. That bug is mostly due to his style of play.

I didn't see what you were talking about after the Ribs goal, do you have it somewhere to post? All I saw was him being happy when everyone scored and I'd be pretty surprised if it went down like you say since he was wearing the mic for RDS. If he did something like that I am sure RDS would have put it on TV.

Sorry I can't produce it to back my point but if anyone on this board watched NHL Center Ice, the Sharks feed, they would of seen it!

My point though goes beyond that. It takes two sides to cause a division. If you think Saks is a more productive player on the ice....fine! He's paid to be a core player and go to guy for this season anyway..so I'll give you that in relative to Ribs play. My point is the whole team is underproducing including Saks and I'm talking about questionable leadership by him also. Is he bringing harmony to this team?......I don't think so based on what I witnessed on the tube last night!

If someone has a post of that Ribs goal with the camera on Saks during the post goal bench celabration, I would appreciate it!

Again...it takes two sides to cause a division!

Saks is not untouchable. Just that he's been (for years now) the last person on the team who needs to be criticized. Why bother criticizing the player who's shown the most heart?
