But now we seem to play with much much less of that speed.


Is this CJ's game plan, to trap, then attack the opposing team with a more defencive commitment to our offence?


It just seems as our offence is more concerned with stopping goals then scoring them,i haven't met a forward who didn't want to score.


A couple of years ago Theo was getting lots of shots ,he was in the game ,so was our offence.


Thats not the problem ,Theo's appitite for shots?


I vote no to trades ,give the boys a a second chance ,it must be hard for the rookies too ,playing under so much talk of trades .


anyhow win or lose we'll be back next year ,even better

Then they're not doing very well at either of their jobs! They've been giving up around 40 shots per game recently.

You raise an interesting point, Puckster. Lately, the players (including Rivet last night when he was interviewed on TSN) have been talking about sticking to their "system". If it's this "system" that's got them all skating so slowly and making all these lousy passes and collapsing defensively so that even weak teams like the Pens can get 35+ shots per game and dozens of good scoring chances, then I say scrap the system and just let the boys skate like they were playing shinny on the Canal des Frozen Dreams.

There's more talent on this team than is being shown right now. As my old college golf coach used to say: "A mind is a terrible thing to use..." Maybe the boys are just thinking too much and have forgotten how to play any other way.
