Who do you like?

We all have been critical of players but my question is who do you like this season? Who has been the most solid player on a consistant bases?

I'm thinking Markov because defense is a tough position in todays NHL and he has done it all! May not be perfect every game but has had few bad games!

Hard to pick someone who's been consistent . Markov has been consistent and good, so pretty good choice.

Here are some other choices (and what's wrong with them)

- Koivu .... has played strong in maybe 90% of the games he's suited up for, but my knock on him is he's missed 5-6 important games

- Ryder ... leading hab scorer, couple of game winners and some o/t winners .... but has taken at least one bone headed penatly that lost us a game.

- Begin .... couple of important goals early on, lots of heart ... but do you recall he missed an OPEN NET against the leafs AND he's taken a lot of bone headed penalties too

- Kovy .... solid most nights, couple of great performances, but seems to be coasting lately.

So, none of these guys get's my vote.

Maybe Bouillon? can't really recall him controlling a game, but can't recall him losing one for the habs either. So perhaps he makes the list with Markov?

Good post! Kind of sums up our season, when we have a hard time finding one solid player!

I would go with Higgins. THis guy works hard every game scored some goals a lot for the ice that he was getting. Always works hard, is great in the corner, solid defensivly and can score. Future captain!

I'm sure there was a time when you couldn't see a Finn every being a Habs captain. Besides right now the team is full of Americans Boullion, Higgins and Komisarek

Bouillon was born in the States but grew up in Quebec, so I don't think anyone would truly consider him an American.

Having said that, with a Finn being captain, I see no reason why an American couldn't be a captain as well.

I would agree with Markov, with Bouillon being right up there,  He rarely has a bad game.

Koivu is pretty consistent, but of course he's frequently injured.

Sadly, the rest of the team is pretty inconsistent this year.

For a future Habs Captain a possibly could be "Kyle Kircupara" (sp) who was team captain of this years Team Canada Juniors who did not lose a game & Sutter knows a bit about leadership/character and picked Kyle out of all the juniors to be captain but granted he was also one of the older players on the team - 19 ?.....

I'm pretty happy with Bouillon's work ethic.  He also delivers some outstanding hits, considering his size... and he can take a check as well.

Speaking of taking a hit, is it just me, or did it appear to anyone else that after Kovalev's initial display of feistiness in the first period he went into into "sulk" mode?

Chipchura......I would say Rivet. This guy was being slagged by everyone at the start of the year and has really answered the call. He is playing within his means.

I'd say Bulis yes I know he had a few bad periods in a few games but when he hustles he can be very useful.  If his hands were softer he would probably leading the habs in goals right now.  Secondly, Plekanec, i was very impressed with him, his speed and his winning face-offs is very crucial.  But then he got hurt......
