Yep, thats right. I really feel that they have some great potential here. They have a Potential great Goalie. One of the Potential great first lines in the game. One of the best defensmen in the game (Markov) and Souray has the potential to be one of the best. We have a really great sniper it seems in Ryder. And the rookies have shown splashes a great things to come( especially Plek and Higgins).

We also have a great grinder in Begin and one of the best checkers in the game in Sundstum. Add to that, Bonk who has the potential to be a solid center on any team( although Bonk and potential have been used interchangebly for all his career). And CJ and BG are proven winners at all levels in which they have competed.

So you know, this team has some ability to pull through this slump and suprise some people. They do have to locate the dressing room canker sore and remove it, or treat it however before all this trouble sorts itself out.

Great post, Muller.  At the start of the year I would look at the Habs' lineup and think they were a Stanley Cup contender.  They still have the same lineup, so they have to get back to basics and turn it around.  They have the horses to do it, as long as they play up to their potential (to use your word).  We all know the culprits.

i am still a habs fan also but i know the difference between potential and realistic and here it is :

A young boy went up to his father and asked him, "Dad,
what is the difference between potentially and realistically?"
The father thought for a moment, then answered, "Go ask
your mother if she would sleep with Brad Pitt for a million
dollars. Then ask your sister if she would sleep with Brad
Pitt for a million dollars, and then, ask your brother if he'd sleep with
Brad Pitt for a million dollars. Come back and tell me what you learn from
that." So the boy went to his mother and asked, "Would you sleep
with Brad Pitt for a million dollars?" The mother replied,
Of course I would! We could really use that money to fix up
the house and send you kids to a great University!"
The boy then went to his sister and asked, "Would you sleep
with Brad Pitt for a million dollars?" The girl replied,
"Oh my God! I LOVE Brad Pitt I would sleep with him in a
heartbeat, are you nuts?!?!?"
The boy then went to his brother and asked, "Would you
sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars?" "Of course," the
brother replied. "Do you know how much a million bucks
would buy? "The boy pondered the answers for a few days, then went
back to his dad. His father asked him, "Did you find out the
difference between potentially and realistically?"
The boy replied, "Yes... Potentially, you and I are sitting
on Three Million Dollars............but Realistically,.........
we're living with two Sluts and a Queer."

so potentialy we have a good team but realisticly we dont as of now.

Good post. One of the things I've been trying to focus on is the potential personalities of the team, and all the guys you mention are the ones I want defining the character and structure going forward. I'd be a hell of a lot more panicky now if we had nothing in the pipeline. It might seem like the doghouse is bare, but look in the oven, the pies are going to be mighty tasty when they're done... just don't rush them to table or you'll end up with a wicked burn
