After watching the game, I'd still have to say that the play of M. Ribeiro was not there. There was no speed, was not in the play, floating around, did not battle for the puck. He should have responded with a good game after being benched for two games. J. Bulis looks a lot better at center then he does. As for Huet, he positioned himself well, did not give any rebounds, he did not play the puck much (which is good because it slowed down the Ottawa's offense) and he froze the puck.
For Kovalev he did not play discipline hockey, which got him off his game.

Very refreshing to see a Habs gaolie (Huet) not give up alot of rebounds. I'd say keep starting Huet until he loses . . . what can it hurt?
I agree with you-hopefully Julien and Co do too. Great win and lets hope the Habs get back to winning on the road as they have a tough schedule for the remainder of Jan.

Kovalev was a non-factor today. He has not played well since his first game back. On the plus side, I did like how Ribeiro put in his two cents' worth one time when Kovalev was being pushed around.
I thought the D played great today - Bouillon, Souray, and Rivet in particular.

It's been an hour - so - Kovy is showing his Rangers face now... I love him to death, but it's hard to watch him go through these molasses-brain stretches
Look, we got a win and thats good enough for me. You all know there has been no body on this board who can be more negative than I have been. Cant we just enjoy the moment without picking apart the win. I realize we all have the right to post our opinions , but give me atleast an hour to savor the game results. Then even I may start bashing the players Thanks DaveB

I concur, a win is a win.
And like the doctor told my mother when I was born, "It ain't pretty, but it'll do."

I walked past a restaurant yesterday that had a sign in the window that said, "Lobster Tail and Beer." I went in, since I enjoy all three.
the habs continue to boggle my mind by beating teams that are at the top of the standings after losing to teams which we should beat or at least compete with. if only they put the effort in all the time we would see much better results on a more consistent basis.
i say keep playin huet until he deserves to be sat.....maybe that will motivate theo to start playing like he can.

I don't know about you, but I thought the game was a pretty victory. The shots notwithstanding, I thought the Habs outplayed the Senators and the score was pretty much indicative of the play. It was one of their best games of the year.

Chris Neil got me so pissed off with his annoying style off play, rushing around the rink poking, pushing and slashing everybody just looking for a fight and we donīt have nobody to deal this kind off situations. Why Habs have guys like Peter Vandermeer and Raitis Ivanans if they donīt use threir talents. I donīt know if anybody noticed that Koivu played only few shifts at 3rd period, is his state of health still inadequate to play whole game.
