Positives??
Permalink Closed

What's the fascination with not being allowed to express an opinion, if it so offends the herd here? The team is putrid right now, so is the "movie matinee idol" goalie. That's the truth, and that's what people wanna talk about. I'm not going searching for positives when this team givs up 5 goals to a poor Pitt team tired from the night before (OT even). Giving up 6 goals, at home, to the worst team in the conference is beyond pathetic.

This is a site for fans to share opinions, and my opinion is this is the softest, most boring team in hockey right now. No heart, no toughness. That's a fact, jack. Again, what does Gainey have against character and toughness??

The Pens ARE a bad team...they have NINE rooks in the lineup right now. leClair is washed up. Rex is done. Gonchar is done. They're all over the hill. Thibault is a joke. the only useful vet left is palffy, and he's been just average. Whoever was lecturing me on how good a team the Pens are is only making excuses and is hiding his head in the sand at what a grotesque organization the habs are currently.

Yeah, the Pens just bneed a little motivation...like every time they play the Habs, perhaps?

Stop making excuses. Embrace the truth.

Apparently, to quote Jack Nichcolson, we can't handle the truth!

Hey Nilsey- I saw some things for the first time last night in Crosby I do not like. Like I said in an earlier post, how he embelishes when he gets hit is pretty bad. Yes noone likes to get hit in the head with a stick but geesh Crosby looks like he has been shot. If the referee was at the other end of the rink he would make sure he saw it. I am not sure if that is something he learmed at a younger age or what. Last night Souray barely grazed him with the stick and I expected Syd to have his face cut open the way he reacted.

If you're not satisfied with the level of fortitude on this board, there's loads of other places I'm sure would be more to your liking. The Maxim board springs to mind. Besides, there's nothing but opinions here. Good ones at every point in the spectrum. What do you think we're doing, talking about how much we like the unis or Ribs shiny teeth?

Habnot, I for one, don't mind people calling it like they see it. Its all only opinion anyway. I hate Ribs, And-o secretly admires him. Johab likes Theo and is frustrated at the medicore season he is having etc etc. Everyone has an opinion.

Gotta agree, it's difficult to go searching for positives with these last 4 weeks. All I can say is, I really think this team is made up of personalities that do not get along. Hockey is a true "team game", it's pretty hard to play as a team under those circumstances.

Once the "problem child or Children" are shipped out, I think we will see this team turn around.

Habnot, post what you like, even if it offends the herd. Diversity is what makes the world an exciting place!

I don't remamber one post saying that anyone here was against opinions, or freedom in posting them.

So how did this become an issue?

Brook. I think Habnot was referring to previous posts where people were upset with so called "personal attacks". I think. I actually never feel that people are attacking each other, just defending positions.

In any case, the point I was trying to make is that I like reading all posts regardless of how the opinion is made( Diplomatic or more direct...like habnot seems to be). I don't take offense to anyone saying that I am lunnytoones for disliking Ribero. Or for saying that I "lurk" on this sight to defend Koivu. I probably do.

I like to read all posts...even And-O's.

I think the whole point of those posts was to weed out comments like "[Theo should] be making gay porn" or calling others "backstabbers" for their perfectly valid opinions, not attacking the opinions themselves.

A little respect goes a long way to attracting new posters and growing the board so new opinions have a place to be welcome. That's all

And, yes, life would be dull without and-o, and I'd have a hell of a lot less Photoon© fodder
