Vokoun and Garon looking great for their respective clubs. Why is it that when players come to the Habs, they usually stink it up? When was the last time we had a trade and the players coming our way were really good?
vokoun is an ex hab??? This one has got to be from a long time ago. To answer your question, these guys ( Garon to my knowledge ) were good in montreal...and he was traded away so he could be a #1...Garon wouldnt and couldnt replace a #1 loved as much as theo is in montreal. Fans liked Garon...but LOVED Theodore. Still do. There are the fans who are not happy with his play lately...but when you actually take notice...he is doing pretty well....considering what he has in front of him!

Vokoun played for Fredricton and did very well in games I saw him play. I was much more impressed with him instead of Jose.I am not positive but I think we lost Vokoun by protecting TBO and Jose in the exspansion draft that year.I think it was around 1997.
TBO was a real screw-up in what has otherwise been a franchise dedicated to top-notch goaltending. That guy was just terrible ... and everyone but upperbrass seemed to know it!

For the record, Vokoun was in the Montreal organization, but only played one period ever with the big club, back in 1996-97. He allowed 4 goals, for a GAA of 12.00.
I guess he's come a long way from there!
Also for the record, if you check Thibault's stats in Montreal, they were more than respectable. I think the guy gets a bum rap.
Johab, you (and others) should go to hockeydb.com for players' stats. Any player who ever laced on skates is there (except Barry, who allegedly played in the East Coast League, but is not in the database!).

Thibault was used to bring in Jeff Hackett from Chicago who did well (except he always seemed to let in a weak goal when the Habs played the Leafs) and held the fort until Jose was ready to become number #1.....
