RE: About CJ being fired

No No No. Lets take a look shall we? The habs have these huge problems:

1. No second line center. I mean NO second line center +++++++

2. Our number one center is small and hurt 50% of the time( much to the bizzare delight of And-o, but And-o does speak the truth--Koivu is hurt alot).

3. Our goaltending which was supposed to be the strong point, has been average at best.

4. Our STUD shut down center named Bonk( whom I still thinks provides a important aspect to the habs game), has been hurt all season really.

5. Our defense has Markov only. Face it, all the other guys would be a 4-7 depth d-man on any good team( Maybe Souray when he plays well would be higher).

6. Ummmm Begin has been the second line center now for over two months( he is a fourth line grinder for &%## sakes).

7. The habs depth chart is sooooo bleak that Daginais is the best we got. Hamilton is just plain awful, awful, awful.

8. Our best rookie, Plekanec is hurt.

So with all that, we are 5 games above 500, and And-o wants CJ gone???? CJ has master minded this team to where it is. IMO

I have read all the CJ must go posts and have said nothing. But come on...

Sorry  but Its time to let them all go. We will be below 500 in the next 2 weeks. This season is a loss as far as I am concerned. If you look at my other posts, I have always defended CJ but it is time we need to move on  everygame comes with another excuse  thats childish

To be fair to the people who want to have someting drastic happen, if you remove the first 5 weeks of the year, we've been substantially below 500, way below. So if they want to play the revolving coach game, be my guest.

Does that mean get rid of the coach? I don't think so. I have a sneaking suspicion that if you looked at good coaches that were fired from undermanned teams that the improvemment rate was negligable.

Scotty in his prime couldn't coach this team. Even with everyone healthy. So bring in Ted Nolan, or Carbo or Pope Pius XXII, but you're not going to squeeze blood out of this stone.

We'd be on the hasty side of stupid to get rid of him now.

DavidB,

I'm not disagreeing with you that this team may very well be below 500 in the next month or so. But who's fault is it is the question?

From the food particles and leftovers that CJ has had to work with, I don't think its his fault. If anything we should be praising him for being where the team is at the moment.

So I'm not sure what you meant DavidB by saying the excuses are childish? You can't make a sub 500 team into a champion without the goods; you agree?

So I don't see them as excuses, just facts... Again IMO

Muller,  You know what is is ??   The people on this board who have been fans like I have for 35 plus years, remember the Dynasty we had. Ya, I know there were only the original 6 then expansion came into play. I am so totally disgusted right now that I will even blame the equipment managers. Thats how mad that I am. I guess I should not play the arm chair quarterback because I am lousy at it. You pls tell me even with lousy players   whos responsibility is it to charge up the team before a game ???  The coaches??  The Captain???  As far as I am concerned they win and lose as a team. I think melanson and greene need to go at a minimum. I would even dump jarvis. If we are all going to defend Cj  Then lets get him a better coaching staff and start from the middle out in rebuilding this team. And for everyone who says there is nothing out there, look who Boston picked up. Three very solid players in three different positions. Ya they still struggled but they are coming out of it. The Habs are playing without momentum, enthusiasm or passion. Where that comes from i do not know. All I do know is we will not be making the playoffs and it is that simple. I think the fans should stay home and stop the sellout crowds. Then and only then will Gillette do something.
