I was so disapointed after last nights game that for the first since joining the board I didn't want to read the posts. Needlessly to say I couldn't help myself so here I am. I was admittedly a little worse for wear when the game started after celebrating Boxing Day in the traditional manner. Sitting at the pub watching soccer on TV. As usual there are many interesting observations and ideas. Thankfully there is a game on soon so I can see for myself. Most of the talk is on coaching. If, as some contend, that Julien isn't BG's "man" I think he should can him now and put him out of his misery. If BG does have confidence in him get him something to work with. Having said that I'm pretty sure the clubs phone bill has risen dramatically over the last few months due to the frantic activity in BG's office. At any rate, as Barry has been repeating ad nausem, you can switch the coaches initials and he'll still have the same bunch of injured, emotionally traumatized individuals that his predecessor was stuck with.

Hey Norkispaul- Happy post boxing day hangover lol. I need to agree with you. Gainey has hung Julien out to dry and it is so obvious it is pathetic. Just be a man Bob and fire him so he can go get a job with an organization that will give him the players to support him. But do not leave the man suffer with  the "team" you have assembled until he loses enough games so that you can "justify" canning him . By the way I will be proven right if the week after Bob has "his man" in place he starts making trades.

Barry, I have never seen you be so negative as in the past couple of days.  Why do you say that Gainey wants to be rid of Julien?  What would be his motivation?  Who does he want to coach the Habs, if not Claude?

I agree.  Unlike other underperforming teams where the coach is singled out, most of the media seems to be blaming the Habs on-ice personnel.  It's pretty clear that the Habs are lacking some strength up-front, some mobility in the back, and consistency between the pipes.  CJ has been doing what he can with roster that is depleted of both character and talent.  Those who remain mostly comprise "softies" who play at (approximately) 64% intensity and never risk injuries.

I hope that BG does something big and juicy.

I have always said that getting rid of the coach does not put any additional talent on the ice. He has done the best he can with what he has. Now, is he guilty of not getting them up for a game or two. Maybe, but BG better make a move soon or I predict we will finish 9 or 10

David- I am just disappointed for Claude and I am disappointed that the players seem to be rewarding him with not showing up. A big part of me right now would love nothing better than to see some guy like Mike Kennan come in and skate those guys to a pulp, yell at them, bench them and treat them like dirt, rather than with the dignity and respect that CJ has been affording them. Many on here seem to think that it is the coach's job to get players up for a game. This is not Atom House League. If the guys in that dressing room cannot get themselves up by putting on the red white and blue and getting paid millions to do it, then coaching is the very LEAST of our problems. Look at Pittsburgh. I do not see Therrien with a win yet. Why? Because he inherited the same mess that Eddie O had. Shaky goaltending, fudes amongst players, and questionable defence. Funny how that does not evaporate when a new coach comes in.
