Is all the dumping the habs do into the offensive zone, even on a power play. They hand the puck right over to the other team. We would get better chances if they would walk in atleast a few steps and either pass it to the opposite, drop it to the D. Or simply shoot it at the goalie from the top of the circle.

I saw Jean Beliveau interviewed a while back, and he mentioned the same thing. To him, a dump-in was the same as a giveaway, and it was the one thing he hated about today's NHL.

We do that because aside from Markov, we do not have any dmen capable of carrying the puck. So instead they dump in in and hope the speed of our forwards get to it. You watch Markov., He is the One guy who will at least try to carry it in. Souray tries now and then as does the cube but really they are too slow and end up coughing it up.

I love watching Markov. He's got a great way of keeping the puck inside just in the nick of time. Pretty exciting stuff.
As far as the dumping, I gotta agree. It's right up there with clutch and grab for me. It flips the strategy/luck ratio on it's head, and makes opportunities based on good fortune, not skill.
Think of the great Hab teams. Smart playing combined with the cahones to back up the plan. I'd love to see more of that sort of thing, and I'm surprised they did nothing to address it with the new rules.
