I missed this one, but just read the line score.  Could anyone pease give me a synopsis?

I see the Habs had the edge on shots, and even had 43 shots on Kolzig but he wasn't even named a star.  How could that be?

Zednik and Begin both scored, which is very good to see.

How was Huet?

Disappointing to see them lose to such a lowly club, two night after beating a powerhouse.

Summary, please!

Only saw the last 3 minutes of 3rd period but I tuned in to CJAD and heard Murray Wilson's summary.  He felt the Habs played well in the first 2 periods but ran out of legs in the third as a result of killing too many penalties especially in the 2nd.  Apparently Julien had to use more than the usual penalty killers therefore players such as Kovy, Ryder, etc ran out of gas.  Wilson felt the Caps deserved the win even though they were outshot 43-33(not sure if 33 is correct).  Kolzig played his usual strong game against the Habs.

Nilsey- I did not feel (unlike And-O) that it was a lack of effort. I felt they competed well. We missed too many chances when we were up 1-0 and to go into the 3rd period only up by a goal is playing with fire. As I said in other posts, we are woefully weak at the center ice position now. With Koivu out and Pleks, we are left with double shifting Ribiero (anyone else have a center ice guy we can use?) and over-using Begin. Begin is being used on the power play out of neccessity. The problem with that is that Begin is also the primary penalty killer. Huet, to be honest, was very ordinary out there. He was saved by the posts twice in the first and looked bad on a couple goals in the 3rd.

1 for 9 on the power play. Again your centers are Begin and Ribieoro. I love Begin but can you think of a team in the league who would use him on the PP?  Much has been said about Perez not being played. Julien puts him out in the 3rd and he is on the ice 3 seconds and AGAIN TAKES A DUMB PENALTY. Caps score on the PP and the tide turns. THAT is why he does not play. He keeps hanging himself.

I didn't see it either but am watching the recorded version (out on a VERY bad date - man, there are some whack jobs out there).  So far our boys look good, but I know the outcome...it's like a train wreck - I can't help but watch.

Simple...the Habs played 20 minutes, while the Caps played 60!
