If Pierre has to play he has to keep getting 4th line minutes. What he can do in shootout is irrelevant as to what he contributes in a game. He may be a shootout specialist but it doesn't warrant him getting big time minutes.
But at the end of the year, some team who lost many shootouts might think to themselves, "Who was that nobody who scored on every shootout shot he took? Pierre who? Well, see what Mr. Gainey wants for him."
I think with some hard work, he has potential, but right now, shootouts is what is key for him I guess lol. But seriously, if he plays like this all year without improvement, he'll be useless in the playoffs seeing as how there are no SO in playoff games.
I still say he is more useful playing two minutes a game on the fourth line, the occasional power play and taking the shootout, then it is to have that roster spot taken up by a goon.
Beaker- I dont disagree with you. If he is with some guys who can skate and set him up he has enough upside. He is starting to go hard to the net and he does have one of the best shots I have ever seen. If he was a better skater that shot would be great on the point on the PP

This is an unintentionally funny quote about Dagenais from Hasek: "I don't know who scored on the first penalty shot, but I know Kovalev and he has everything." I also, of course, love his capsule on Kovalev. It is great to have him back! Habtastic
If our Czech friend had done his homework instead of being the arogant bastard he is he would have known that Dagenais took the exact same shot for his previous shoot-out goal. Interestingly enough Kovalev picked the same spot. Let me just add that after watching the highlights of the game I have to agree with you all, Kovalev is some player. It was also a nice touch that they had the French commentary on. my french isn't that great but it was good to hear guys who were enthusiastic about the canadiens for a change. Tir et le but! I love it.
