Alexei Kovalev.

Is there any doubt???

This guy is just plain awesome!

Lets hope that Bob can land us a more servicable top 3 d-man...and another star forward!

Hard to argue with the spark he gave the team tonight!  Kovalev definitely has the most talent a Canadiens player has had since the seventies.  Great pickup by BG, and a pleasure to see in a Habs uniform.

Can't wait till Koivu is 100% healthy, is there some concern pertaining to that?  Hope not . . . but anyway, yes I agree, we need Gainey to work some magic and deliver us a top 3 d-man.

I would like to see more of Huet also, he played a super game tonight!

Kovy was great and I am glad now we have a second goalie that we can fall back on if need be.  This was awsome

I will go as far as to say that he is one of the most talented players in the entire league.  When he is inspired like tonight....there aren't many better.....PERIOD!

i agree.....when playing like he did tonight there is not anyone in the league i'd rather have wearing a hab jersey.

kovy loves playing here and appreciates the type of fan support the team gets(he gets).  he rewards them and they reward him by treating him like the star he is.

I agree. Did you see the inside out move he put on Chara (one of the best in the business)? This guy can do things with the puck that, in all my years of hockey, I have never seen before. And know what I like best about him? He is a TEAM player. Any other high priced guy would have been content to sit out longer. He wante dto come back and contribute. And as CJ said, he buys into the game plan. Yes he is our MVP. That was very obvious last night, not only by his performance, but by how he inspires those around him.

4-6-3 without Kovalev

13-3-3 WITH Kovalev. I believe that the numbers speak for themselves.

Amazing what one game, like beating the Sens, will do to the opinions of Habs fans.

Two months ago, Begin was the heart and soul of this team, according to everyone on this board (myself included).

One month later, Koivu is the man. How can we manage without him?

And today, Kovalev is a star like no other.

Don't get me wrong, I think all these guys are stars, but what if the rest of the team didn't play inspired hockey for 65:00 mins last night?  (Well, for Souray 64:55)  Kovalev's effort would have went for naught, and we wouldn't be reading and typing about St. Alex.

Don't forget, Dagenais was the MVP for one game a few weeks ago.

Actually, I was very happy with the Habs' effort last night, even before the game was over, and I would have been more than content with a single point.  The second one was simply the icing on the cake.

Now let's get the other guys back in the lineup, and we'll be just fine.
