MONTREAL – Canadiens GM Bob Gainey announced Monday that forward Andrei Kostitsyn and goaltender Yann Danis have been called up from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.
Kostitsyn, 20, has one point (1-0-1) in four games with the Canadiens this season after scoring his first NHL goal on his first career shot on in a 5-2 win over the Phoenix Coyotes on Dec. 13. In 28 games with the Bulldogs in 2005-06, Kostitsyn has five goals, 13 assists and 26 penalty minutes.
Danis, 24, has already appeared in six games with the Canadiens this season, posting a 3-2-0 record, a 2.69 goals against average and a .908 save percentage. In 10 games with the Bulldogs this season, Danis is 5-4-1 with a 2.58 goals against average and a .905 save percentage.
So who does that mean is out of the lineup? Theodore and Koivu? Kovalev?
OK; just read barry's post - Plecanec and Zednik are out, apparently. God, it just never ends! Just like 3-4 years ago. The Habs' MVP this year will be the team doctor!
