Poll #6: The Russians are coming!

Question: Based on some of our eastern European friends' recent potential, should we try to add a few more Russians in the mix to give a more late-90's Detroit feel to the team. Bonus: Would hiring Vladislav Tretiak be the answer to Theo's woes?

No.

I base this on recent Canadian successes in Junior, World, Olympics, and Women's championships.  I believe Canadians are the best hockey players in the world.  Plus the Habs' experience with Europeans - Malakhov, Kjell Dahlin, Dackell, Bonk, Kovalenko, etc. - has not been stellar.

No - I would actually like to have a couple less Euro's and a little more Canadian umph.

I'm trying not to throw this one way or the other - but is it fair these days to start including American talent in with the Canadians? The style is a tiny hair's width away, as are the level of grit and determination. So, as a Canadian, I'd have to divide the issue into North American and Euro Styles.

There you go, just claryifying a bit
