Since the majority of GOHABBERS seem to support CJ as coach, perhaps someone would care to speculate for And-o....
Is CJ set to put someone in the pressbox for a game or two...or is that all talk???
Will CJ promote the few guys (eg. Higgins, Murray and Sunny) who have been really stepping up their effort...or will we all be watching double doses of Ribs and Dags AGAIN tomorrow night?
Will CJ scrap the "one man in...four men back" approach to defending a lead in hopes of getting more than 6 shots on goal over two periods?
Anyone suppose that CJ might ever consider calling a time-out in order to rest key PK/PP guys BEFORE getting stuck playing guys like Plekanecs on the PK?
Does anyone see any more than one or two guys playing flat-out for CJ on a nightly basis?
How long do you think it will take before Kostitsyn is a steady defensive minded 4th liner with no future (although maybe And-o could just ask Perezhogin for this one)???
...Hey guys, pulling the covers up over your head does NOT make things disappear (although perhaps a paper-bag over the face would prevent further embarrassment from our lame duck coach)!!!
...this guy has gone from a peak of "promising"...down to "questionable"...right to downright "brutal" in a matter of weeks! OTHER TEAMS HAVE WORSE INJURIES AND BETTER RESULTS!
...nothing personal against CJ...or anyone...just time to move-on!!!
Ando, I have been one of CJ's supporters since he came to the Habs but after last night I am inclined to agree with you although I don't think he should move along. The first period of last night's game was a good one for the Habs in which all 4 lines were played. Then for some unknown reason CJ decides to sit the 4th. for almost all of the 2nd and 3rd periods. You could see the 3 lines were getting more tired as the game progressed and I would submit that was a big reason why they had only 6 (or 7) shots in the final 40 minutes.
The Habs were tired having played Tues. night and then had to travel out West to a 2 hr different time zone and a much higher altitude (not attitude!!!) with only one day to become acclimatized. I know all teams go through this but it seems most teams use their full bench when on this type of travel. For these reasons I could not support CJ's thinking last night.
Also I think he has to start putting players like Ribs and Zed in the press box. Ribs is staying on the ice too long, is weak on the puck and is a defensive liability. Zed is doing absolutely nothing. The fact his 2 linemen are injured cannot be used as a reason indefinitely. Time to play the young'uns such as Murray, Kostitsyn, etc. on a regular basis to see what they can do.
I'm inclined to agree with And-o here... The habs really do have a bad habit of playing rookies on the 3rd and 4th line, killing their offensive potential. We say this with so many guys during the 1990s and I pray that Perez isn't going to turn out that way.
