If this guy is declared a UFA, would anyone consider adding him for $500K-$600K for the second half of the season?
...or is And-o just looking for a quick and dirty way of getting back at the Leafs!
POTENTIALLY...Nolan (at the right price) would represent one fiercely competitive and gritty winger who has always had a nose for the net!
Imagine a late season game versus Toronto where Markov puts a low-hard shot on net through traffic that is tipped past Belfour (by Owen Nolan) for a 3 goal lead mid-way through the 3rd!!!
Could be worth a look, but i think the center position is what we really need. That big guy you've been talking about And-o. Someone MUCH better than Bonk. I liked the guy but i knew right away when we got him what we got and i wasnt TOO excited. Not even half as much as you were. I know ottawas team REALLY well cuz they are covered just as much as the habs and leafs around here. Bonk was a disappointment in ottawa which is why they got rid of him. And personally for the price we're paying him, he is worse than having Brisebois on the team. Truth be told.

Hey Jo...I'll certainly admit to a MAJOR disappointment but NOT YET a total bust!
BG and CJ put Bonk in a strictly defensive mode from day one...which has been made 10X worse by his obvious goal scoring slump.
...lets see what happens in the upcoming weeks!
My sense is that Radek's groin has been an issue for too long...and I hope he is able to return after the break and get on-track at BOTH ENDS of the ice.

Bonk is notoriously inconsistent. Let's hope that means he'll rock in the second half of the season.

I can't find any stats for Nolan this year. Where is he playing right now, if at all?

hasnt played at all this year, The leafs chose not to resign him during the off-season. A because he was injured and B he was asking for too much for the amount of time they would have him playing. Which is why us going for him is a risk too.

What's the nature of his injury? Can he play now?

Actually call me nuts (ok Barry you are nuts) but I woudl give Nolan a shot if he is healthy. I for one am sick and tired of OUR players going elsewhere and thriving. Would be nice to get someone else's castoff (especially the Laffs who have made good use of some of our "garbage) and see the guy do well in a habs uniform. Cannot be any worse than Irratic Radik

Barry-Boy, you said what I was thinking! "If healthy" Yes I would try the guy, if for no other reason than to see him play the Leafs. He must want pay back! Oh and the word Bonk reminds me of the captions in the Batman comics when someone is hit!... 'BONK' ...KAPOW!
I wouldn't be averse to signing Nolan for part 2 of the season. Gosh, at the very least he'd light a fire under some of the team. He can have Dagenais' spot. I don't expect Dag's recent fire to last, not once Koivu and Kovy get their icetime back. Nowlan might be fun on line 1 and Zed on 2, though he'd need a better centre. Anyway, ya. Offer him $400k as a tryout, with club option for 2nd and 3rd year. Why not. Nolan's always be consistant and respected, I think. .7 ppg, I'd be a little worried about his penalties, though, because he tends to lose his cool some times. But, I'd rather .7ppg than a hole plugger.
Not a bad idea if we could get him for real cheap -- like 400K pro-rated. The guy was never a great skater. Also, he's pretty broken (back and hip). But, the Habs definitely need a power-forward.

Thing about Nolan is that he's not at all consistent. The big complaint about him is that he goes quiet and sullen, and is not always a team guy. Plus he's been hurt a lot.
If he's on, he's great, but I think we have bigger concerns (a #2 centre, to be exact)
