As a reminder of the importance of good teamwork over individual egos, maybe all the names should be taken off the jerseys, like in the old days. Just an idea
Well, we could always put those little dog collar things that "shock" onto the players with big egos - - - everytime they try to make a fancy move instead of shooting the puck we can SHOCK THEM!!!! lol
The "concerned fan" guy on habsworld (this is by far the better board; I only check that out for the concerned fan's summaries, which are great for when you don't get to see the game) said two disturbing things:
-one, Dagenais yelled at Ryder for not passing it to him to get the hat trick, when Ryder had a clear shot
-two, Ribeiro said in the media that if Ryder finished half the chances he made for him Montreal would be doing a lot better (which is true, sort of)
Ribeiro has no class, man! Ryder is leading the team in goals, and Ribeiro is leading the team in losing the puck. Get rid of the bum!
This is all terrible for team chemistry and needs to be nipped in the bud.
You go on to only partially "quote" what Ribeiro said in the paper and then even agree with it (sort of) and then say to get rid of him...
In the article Ribeiro clearly states that he is not placing the blame on Ryder but on the fact that he takes great shots but they just aren't connecting. All this without an aggresive tone mind you. He even goes on to credit Ryder.
As you can see i am a Ribs fan because unlike most I do appreciate the things he does on the ice as i do the whole team. Face the facts...he's on pace to beat his point totals of last season when everyone praised him....yet all this bashing...especially that guy on the Habs World site.
Well I for one, and others, never praised him, so don't generalize. As a player he has the terrible triple-s: too small, too slow, too soft. You can add a fourth: Too selfish, because everything has to be about Ribiero, and it seems Dagenais also has that problem. I can't believe the gaul of this guy yelling at Ryder. These are two players who need to go and I don't really care what, if much, we get back for them.

Agreed

I for one want Ryder to retire in a habs jersey, 20 years from now. Considering how fresh he is, he shows patience I only see from veteran players. there's no room for smug little bunnies on the team, and Ryder's certainly not one of them
Now back to the original idea of the thread
Northwind, Love the idea, maybe the shock setting should match the salary the guy is getting
You've got to be kidding... You go on to only partially "quote" what Ribeiro said in the paper and then even agree with it (sort of) and then say to get rid of him... Well, the various posters on habsworld felt it wasn't taken out of context, but I'll go read the article and decide for myself. I hope you're right. I'm still bothered by how he talks about his "beautiful passes" regardless of what he says about Ryder.
He should know as much as anyone that he is not bringing a lot to the game most of the time. Not be confused and think being a good passer is anything close to being a good player.
I want Ribeiro to do well, but EVERY game I've watched this season he has sucked or been mediocre at best, even when he scores points. I went up and down with Ribeiro last year, but this year I think he is less effective. So what about points. It's not the only thing. The guy hurts his team in so many ways.

I totally agree, I see him showboating, ttrying to make fancy-ass passes, that neither make sense or contact on one of our guys sticks
Maybe he's getting confused with "passer" and "poser"?
