Let's give credit where credit is due. That team worked their butts off last night and won a game with little better than an AHL lineup and a bunch of kids. I said earlier that guys had to step up and tonite I felt it was Dagenais, Begin and Theo. And when Koivu gets back next week rested and healthy hopefully he can help carry the team, not only statistically but in the dressing room as well. He is a great leader and we need that right now. I watched some of the Toronto game last night too. As much as we bitch about the Habs, the Leafs looked horrid last night blowing a 3-1 lead. That team (right now) has a ton more talent on the ice then we have as much as it pains me to say so.

I want everyone to keep something else in mind too. The "losses" we have incurred lately have not all been straight losses. We lost in Overtime to Buffalo and Toronto in games that easily could have gone the other way. I wonder had they gone the other way and we scored in overtime in those two games (getting 2 points instead of one) would the hollering be as loud as it has been on this board? I see a team that is in need of a talent infusion that is working very hard.

Its the same old thing  we get a lead after working very hard for a goal, and Theo steps up to help us lose. I have had it  Im going down stairs and break open the bottle of rum my Jamaican friend brought me from Montego Bay  Theo stinks and Garon getting hot

K, im honestly getting tired of all this Theo bashing. The guy let in ONE goal last night ( the other was off a player and he had no chance ) besides that he had a strong game!!! Yet your all over him about how hes hurting the team and that hes helping us lose?! Im sorry, where was the puck clearing in front of the net? EVERY time Theo lets in a goal its the end of the world and im getting sick of it. The guy WONT get shut-outs every night, the guy WILL let in the occasional bad goal, but while your putting him down take notice to all the GOOD saves he made last night!!! We came away with a win didnt we? Its almost impossible now to be excited or happy after the habs win cuz i KNOW coming back to this board there will be a landslide of negativity towards players. I can understand if you guys have a grudge cuz the guy is being paid 5million+ and even i agree that that is too much, but dragging on about it isnt going to help any. We ALL know his play right now isnt worth 5m+ but during his MVP season the guy got 1.5 million but he played better than guys getting 6 million. Did he turn around and say well im only being payed this much so ill only play that good. NO So why is it he has to play like hes the best player in the NHL EVERY night to you guys. He is the most important player on this team, and hes paid accordingly. Like it or not , without Theo we wouldnt be in 3rd in the conference! Id be suprised if we were in the top 8 without theo. If we are going to win a cup this decade, like it or not, THEO will be in net. He isnt going anywhere, Management prooved that when they signed him for that amount of money. So either accept it, or please keep the bashing to yourself, we've ALL heard it a thousand times, we all KNOW he isnt worth what hes making at the moment BUT the team is confident with him. We cant we as fans all do the same? Heres something you might wanna do next game....How about you watch the OTHER goalie, with the same baised mind your using against theo ( Its obvious some of you hate him ) and then come back to the board and let us know how the other guy did. Sometimes i think some of you would still be upset if we literally put a brick wall infront of the net to stop all pucks from going in. IT GIVES TOO MANY REBOUNDS!! PUCK CONTROL IS TERRIBLE!!!

I thought Souray stepped up like a captain I think and he had a good game. I think he set the tone early on. Nice to see Chara suspended, I watched the game and he went out with one thing in mind. Plus 10,000.00 fine to the coach. I thought he was already suspended this year for kicking someone. Then again that may have been Hvalat  not sure

I am just glad to hear people on the backs of someone other than the coach for a change Johab I do agree with you. It has become to the point where everyone is anylizing evry single goal the kid lets in now. Last night I saw him make at least 8 (ok maybe it was 4 but I was at an office party and seeing double ) game saving stops. Anyone who saw Eddie the Eagle play last night would be happy we have Theo (by the way Johab..nice rant :o)

its true people have to realize that ,with the new rules, hockey is going a little bit back like the 80's hockey, where stanley cup wining goalies finish the season with an average of .3XX and plus goals allowed per game.

so before bashing on theo, look at the entire team too, there are reasons why a player can burst into breakaway , like a defensive error, the offense that did a bad pass that gets intercepted, and usually the players who go on breakways are, most of the time, one of the best player in the opposing team , so its not always easy (that goes for all goalies, not only theo )    ..... you can look at it like; who here would actually be able to stop ,on a breakaway, someone like Heatley, Crosby, Lecavalier, Martin St-Louis, Sundin, ( thats only to name some of the EAST teams....)

I agree that the team wins and loses as a team. I fel that Theo made some god saves but he did not have a stellar game as far as I am concerned. The question is, am I alone in this opinion????? Its just that when the opposing players are coming in for a shot on him, I just do not feel at all confident he will stop the shot. When the player winds up to take the shot I find myself watching for the light to go on. Sorry but thats my opinion and Im sticking to it.

I thought he had a very good game - key stops at crucial times, and not much he could have done on either goal scored against him - the first one went in off his own player (the lithe Portugese diarist), and the second one was on a whirl-around backhand - an almost impossible shot to defend against by a goalie.  He was named the second star of the game, which I thought was deserved.  They had 31 shots on him, and he stopped 29 of them.  That's good enough for me most nights.

I've met a few McLeods, but never any McClouds.  Also MacNeils, MacDougalls, MacDonalds, and many more Macs and Mcs.  "Nova Scotia" means "New Scotland" - and they all seem to be in Cape Breton!
