You know just for fun (because some of you guys are starting to depress me lol), I thought I would go back over the last 2 weeks postings and look at the list of people you guys say "have to go". Needless to say, according to us, we have more guys who "have gotto go" then senior citizens who have OD'd on prune juice. But here is the list of those who "have got to go"
Julien
Gainey
Souray
Ribiero
Dagenais
Streit
Hainsey ( like my ex wife, already gone)
Theo
Bonk
Rolie the Goalie (Goaltender Coach)
Dandeneault
Plus I think the Zamboni driver (left a white strip up the middle 2 games in a row...unacceptable), the guy who serves beer on the south end of the building (way too much foam), Youpi (orange fur clashing with red sweater..what was Gainey thinking?!??), and Joe the janitor who has not been doing a good job on the urinals at all!
Guess my point is that if we get rid of everyone on our team that just "has got to go", what will we have left?

...and since you can't get rid of all those players, it is the coach that must pay!
I tell ya, I thought 24 hours would defuse my thoughts on this one...but it has not - CJ outta go!
The powerplay has been brutal. The penalty kill clearly has the horses to be much better. All lines have been inconsistent. Our defense is almost ZERO threat to score...EVER. The Habs top prospects are all showing signs of becoming one-dimentional 3rd and 4th liners. Like I said before...not every single player can be in a slump all at once!
And-o sees no point in postponing this...time for a new approach...with new strategies...with the fire and passion required to re-ignite this line-up!

Right you are. Never mind the fact we have little talent and what talent we do have is hurt. Guess all the experts who said we would barely make the playoffs must be wrong..we are definately a first place team. I am on the phone right now to God. "God, this is Barry. I need a favour. Listen God is Moses available? I really need someone who can coach and walk on water".

I'd like to see basically half of those outta Mtl . . .
Ribs, Dags, Streit, Hainsey, Bonk, Rolie the Goalie (only because it would seem we're stuck with Theo).
too much foam???? fire him!!! but barry i am one of the few who doesn't want to see every player gone from the team. as far as im concerned we need to tough out the slump like most teams do. not saying that we are bad unloyal fans cuz of how we want em all gone just sayin WE NEED TO CALM DOWN. just not on the beer guy he needs to go too much foam my butt

And-O- I respect everyone's opinion on here. You make a good poin regarding the penalty kill. It is killing us right now as we are ranked 23rd. Part of this is coaching yes. However conversely we are averaging 16.8 penalty minutes per game, 14th in the league, which of course ups the odds substantially of being scored on (of course it is possible to blame the coach for the "lack of discipline" in taking these penalties). So when you are averaging 17 minutes a game in penalties the emphasis not only comes to your PK, but to your goalie. It has been said many times that your goalie is your best penalty killer. Theo is at the bottom of the heap with a .888 save percentage (which is now the benchmark when judging a goalies performance, not Goals Against or even wins, but save percentage). Only the Bulin "wall" and the departed Cam Ward of Edmonton have a worse save percentage.
So while CJ must take some blame for not having a better penalty kill as of late, much of the onus falls on Theo's shoulders. As well, guys like Begin and especially Bonk who you claim was brought here for "defensive purposes and has done everything CJ and BG have asked of him". Currently Bonk is a woeful -3 with no goals and 6 assists. On the other side of the coin Koivu is a plus 2 and leads the team in scoring.(By the way Bonk can take solace on knowing that Ribiero is a nifty -5). So what exactly is Bonk doing that is asked of him? Wearing a uniform? Did CJ bring Bonk here ? Did CJ sign Theo to a 5 year contract which now forces Julien to play him 90% of the time?
Our power play is ranked 12th in the entire league. Is this a team playing "without a system"? With the lack of scoring we have it is a pure miracle that we have the 12th ranked power play in the league (18.2%).And how is having the 12th ranked Power play in the league "brutal". Don't forget we have been without Kovalev and Markov and last game Koivu. Those guys play about 1:30 of each powerplay. As I said I respect everyone's opinion here. That is what this board is for. All I ask is that people not make random generalizations without something to back it up. To say that the coach does not know what he is doing is simply trying to make someone a scapegoat when in reality we need to examine the whole picture.
A team with no purpose or coaching does not have the 12th ranked PP in the league (and without Markov, Kovalev and Koivu mind you). As for the defence not scoring, when exactly did that become the coach's fault?!?? Part of the problem rests with the personell we have back there. Bouillon is a solid dman but has no shot. Souray..well what can we say? Rivet again is not a goal scorer. The coach cannot go out there and kill a penalty. He cannot stop the puck. He cannot score from the blueline.

Am I the only one that thinks Zednik is playing like a bum, I hear all the talk about the other guys playing lousy but hardly anyone mentions Richard, except for the stupid penalty he took the other night. With this new league he may take alot more because hes always hooking guys from behind like he has always done, but now he can't get away with it. He has one move which is one hand on his stick and try to beat the defenceman along the right hand boards but more often than not he gets hip checked into the boards. He has never been a passer which on so many occasions his linemates are open. he has the tools but can't seem to get them together. Maybe the only reason he can't beat a d-man inside is that he is still thinking of the big hit he suffered in the playoffs a few years back when Kyle McClaren hit him. Come on richard pick it up

I don't think he is playing like a bum, however, I have noticed lately that he will go into the corner, dig for the puck like a madman, then when the puck gets two feet away he stands and watches the play. He'll do this as well when he carries the puck in and loses it. Almost as if he is saying "Okay, I did my part, someone else take over."

I am also of the mind that Zeds has been playing below par compared to they way we've seen him play before. In fact, in an obscure post last week I accused him of looking like he was skating with poop in his pants. I don't know if he's still recovering from his injury or what, but his speed is not there, his hustle is not there, and he's not getting many shots on net either. I realize he relies on Saku to put the puck on his stick, but we need him to play well even when Koivu isn't there. A goal or two a week from Zednik would go a long way, wouldn't it?

I've noticed that too, but I don't think it's out of character for him (to appear to have poop in his pants, that is, not to actually have it). In fact, Zednik has a hunched-over skating style which you see off & on in players. The worst I ever saw was Mike Eaves. His nose was down to his knees. The most stand-up style I ever saw, in contrast, was the former Hab Pat Hughes.

I was there for the U2 concert and the beer guy with the foam charged $8.75 for a large draft. He and that price tag has to go! Being a resourceful maritimer I had a little friend in my coat pocket. As for the Habs, when the list of underachievers is that long it's called a "Slump" look it up guys! Oh and remember the injuries?
