MONTREAL – Canadiens GM Bob Gainey announced Tuesday that defenseman Jean-Philippe Cote has been recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.
Cote, 23, has played in 14 games with the Bulldogs so far in 2005-06, held without a point while collecting 34 penalty minutes. With the Bulldogs in 2004-05, Cote scored one goal and added eight assists in 51 games while racking up 58 penalty minutes.
Born in Quebec City, the 6-foot-2’, 216-pound defenseman was signed as a free agent August 19, 2004.
Well he has two hands a pair of skates and will take up space on the ice. But seriously someone posted earlier that this could be a blessing. THis could be just what the Dr ordered. Hold our own tonight and get back Souray Komisarik for the next game. The before you know it Markov is back. You know miracles do happen, albeit this would be a very big miracle but the Habs fresh off the stolen game from TO could be pissed enough to come out swinging and win this one.
