the panic button i mean...   lets start looking at things a bit more realisticly  we are not the best team in the NHL.  we weren't suposed to be  and most people thought we would do a lot worse than this but we are still pretty high in the standing. this recent slump EARLY in the season should not be reason to start hoping for coaching changes and trades.  we may have some trouble winning games right now   but give it time  this slump will end and we'll be back on track.   when you look at this season thus far compaired to last season we are doin a lot better  and i for one am happy with that, as it means a strong competing team for now and the future. think about it    last few times we made the playoffs we squeeked in. this year should be a lot better.  i think we should wait till around trade deadline and see if any of the players we are willing to throw away will bounce back.   the panic button is not to be used irresponsibly  so lets back away for now  and enjoy the habs WILL bounce back   just give em time

your friendly salted one

too late..the button has been pushed many times. In fact many are ready to can one of the best coach's in the league because he did not run across the ice chasing officials last game. We have won 14 games when we probably, realistically, have the talent to win 8.

Good post Salted One! I have never once thought about getting rid of CJ. I know little about coaching but I feel that we have one of the best coaching staffs in the league - in fact, we do have one of the best coaching staffs in the league. I did not see the TOR game so I don't know how CJ actually reacted to the calls. As many have said before, a coach cannot yell and scream for that makes it worse. I for one am fond of the un-animation (is that a word? lol) of CJ. However, there is a time for it. It's easy for me to sit here are say he should have done this and should've done that. Someone posted that CJ should have argued and that would have prevented Markov. Well, I don't think thats true at all. Markov would have pushed the ref even if CJ had argued.

Every instance when someone calls for a coach to go bananas at the refs I am forced to recall Michel Therrien's ill-timed and ultimately series killing meltdown against Carolina.

Lot's of good going ape sh*t did The Habs back then.

CJ will lose it if he (a) has to, and (b) the timing calls for it.  Most times the refs get the calls right, and of not, there seems to be a tendency for "make up" calls during the course of a game.  Yeah, the Habs got hosed, but asking CJ to take a fit wouldn't have helped matters any.

IMHO anyway.

Agreed, 100% Johnny. Great names think alike... in our case. Although im sure your real name isnt Johnny. But lets just say ;)  Not only did Michel cost us the series in my opinion, it cost him his job. See what whining gets. I honestly dont know why Quinn is still around, hes next to go. Martin only lasted so long in ottawa....
