I actually think Ribero has looked decent the last two games. Still don't like his style of play, but I gotta say positives when I see them.

You know I thought it was just my beer goggles last night but I agree. Glad to see someone who is sober noticed. I do know that he has been put on notice by the coaching staff so maybe that will do the trick.

I like the idea of making up the 4th line with 'Specialty Team' players, so that they get limited 5 on 5 and then much more 5 on 4 time.  Ribiero is ok with 10 mins of ice, most of it PP, especially if he has a defensive winger during those 5 on 5 times.  The guy can be a real asset when he wants to be.

Totally agree. Ribeiro is fairly painful to watch in up-and-down 5 on 5, but he looks useful on the power play and in situations where his defense isn't needed. On the 4th line he won't have those pesky defensive responsibilities and can concentrate on what he does best with some energy guys taking care of defense. And he'll get his minutes on the second PP unit.

Personally I'd like to see Begin back on the 4th line. He's not a pure defensive player, really, but a great forechecker who can chip in a point or two, and might if Ribeiro is making passes to him. Bulis, on the other hand, is cursed as an offensive player and should be on the 3rd line.

I did not get to watch the Buds game - who played the fourth line?

It was Ribiero, Dagenais and Bulis for a lot of the game.  I also prefer Begin there instead of Bulis, and Youppi on the line instead of Dagenais.  :)

Habtastic- I agree with you. As long as we have Ribs we need to use him in the best spots. Killing penalties no. But on that line last night with his old buddy Dags and playing the power play I think is good. The kid can score when he has room. But 5 0n 5 he gets killed on the one on one battles. The other thing I liked last night was Koivu on the point on the PP. In the absence of Souray and/or a power play quarterback, I like Koivu back there directing traffic. CJ seems to be trying that along with the big frame of Bonk in the slot.

I don't know about his shot, but Youppi is clearly the better skater of the two!

Ribeiro scoring is exactly what we need. Because we all know his goals come in bunches, and so hopefully he'll score a bunch in the next few games.
