WHY IN GOD'S NAME WAS RIBIERO ON THE ICE FOR THE LAST MINUTE OF PLAY IN THE THIRD??? Tough call on Rivet . . . the Ref's put their whistles away for the last part of the third then call that crap! Habs got a point though . . . Leafs go on the PP to start overtime.
uhmmm..why wouldnt Ribs be in the ice wiyth a minuet left..do you want to win or play for the tie?

No way do I buy that logic, with his plus/minus ratio. Sure worked good huh, the play was basically in the Habs end the whole final minute, resulting in a penalty that gave the Leafs the win in OT. Ribiero should not be on the ice in the final minute, no way.
So were we screwed by the refs again? According to Murray W. the too many men on the ice call last time and the Rivet penalty just now were both totally bogus. What do y'all say?
Man, I'm not one to complain..................OK, perhaps I am................. but we were royally phoqued by the men in stripes tonight! The Markov non-goal, the bad calls, the last-second penalty.......too much! I wonder if their salaries count towards the $39 million Leafs' salary cap?

Technically it was a penalty . . . Rivet did not get contact with the puck before he took the legs out from under the Leaf . . . BUT . . . what's frustrating is the time (4 seconds left in the third when the Refs arm went up) the penalty was called AFTER the Refs basically let the Leafs clutch and grab us to death in the last half of the third. That is where the problem lies, IMO . . .
I can't believe the way the refs get away with this stuff. I've never heard of a refs sitting out a game or two for screwing up a game like that. They should be some type accountablility action taken on them when they don't refs properly according to the rules. OK, I admit it would be hard to judge, but something should happen.
CBC now saying hearing word that Markov shuffed an official at games end! I hope not!
Anyone get excited when Saks was in all alone with the winning goal on his stick with about 4 minutes left? He should of made a move rather than shoot it at Belfour!
All in all, the Habs showed some grit getting back in the game but too bad they didn't play 60 minutes! It still something to build on and I liked the line up with CJ finally breaking apart the second line for some much needed chemistry!
Sad way to lose especially for the Habs as they showed some much needed emotion late in the game! But that emotion is what is needed to turn these loses into wins!
Theodore has now played two straight very good games full of big big saves.
When the chips were down we were outplaying the Leafs. Bad luck did us in. We are probably due for some bad luck after some of the good luck we got early in the season. But it's nice to know we are a better team than the Leafs even without Kovalev.
The rookies got to play again and the lines were shaken up a bit. And we were better for it. Maybe Julien will stick with Perez, who paid him back for giving him a shot at playing time with a goal.
Big negative:
Markov's probably suspended. I don't want to think of the Habs without him. He might be our best player this season. No Kovalev, no Markov. Scary thought.
Dunno about our best player, but top 3 yes. With or without Markov I can't see the Habs pulling out a win against the best team in the league.
Did Theo play that well tonight? I watched 1 1/2 periods and it didn't look like he was tested much. He let in 4 goals, not sure that merrits the accolades he's getting tonight.
Big positives to take away from this: Theodore has now played two straight very good games full of big big saves. When the chips were down we were outplaying the Leafs. Bad luck did us in. Habhead: I think it was you that said Ribs shouldn't of been on the ice for the final minute! I totally agree! It looked like with 30 seconds left, he didn't get off with his linemates when he could have and as a result was tired and ineffective as usual defensively and let his guy get through him to the net! That's when Rivet missed his poke check!
I looked at the tape of the game this morning when I got home and I agree. Robs had the chance to get off the ice with Ryder and stayed on and then could not get off.

Wow what a bogus call... I always thought if you touch the puck first before the body it was a clean play as with a 2 on 1 defensively it happens all the time...not so and to call it right before OT, come on. Habs need to step it up against the make b leafs. Hopefully Crystal Ball has good fortunes ahead..we need it. Markov's out who's coming up Hainsey? Hab OUT
