I hope the media was right when they said it was a routine operation. But who knows, things can still go wrong. It's bad when one player can make such a difference in a teams performance - especially when he is not even the captain.

I already find myself saying Next Year. Even when, and if, Kovy gets back... if we keep losing then we will have no chance of getting back into the top standings.

You know, I am really close to the point where I cannot even stand to look at this site. Number one, we fired 40 shots at Biron last night..lack of effort? Uhmm..would you rather have 60? 2 weeks ago you guys were talking Stanley Cup. Is the sky nowfalling?

I agree 100% Barry. Montreal has an exciting young team that has so far, exceeded expectations. Anyone who is writing this team off in November (with the current record) has zero hockey knowledge.
I don't see why next year and not this year. There is still 3/4's of the season left. Did you honestly think montreal would stand with 5 losses all season long? Teams go into slumps every year. I'd let go of the Panic button and have faith in our favorite team.

I guess I don't have any "hockey knowledge." I love this team and I watch every game... I want to win every game just as much as the next guy does. But we've lost like 5 of the last 6.
To Barry33: You should re-read the posts above. We talked about winning the cup next year if KOVY does not come back. Also, when I posted about "next year" last night, it was right after that horrible loss to Buffalo. No, the sky is not falling, but we are NOT playing to our potential. So my question to you is, what will it take for us to play like we were 2 weeks ago?
And, I never said anything about a lack of effort. Not sure where that came from.

The lightning were in a huge slump in December of 2003, they came back to win the Cup
Very good point Jay. I think when Kovy gets back we will see a turnaround.
Thanks man, I hope so too. But it wouldn't hurt to make a trade to take the weight off Koivu, and to ease Kovalev back into things when he does make his return
Exactly, I liked your "trade" post. That was good. I would like to see us get Sykora. I'm not sure about trading Theodore. I think fans have a lot of faith in him, and also his teamates. I think the team would take a blow if we got rid of Theo.
I agree. Theo has the talent and has shown that when he is on his game he can be amongst the best in the league. He just needs to get some consistency. What I have seen is that there is a trend with him that when he gets alot of shots he tends to perfrom better (like he did a few years ago).

We are 2-3 since Kovalev went down. In the six games before that we didn't have one regulation loss. One of out top three players just got injured; we have a team full of young players. Our record before was INSANE. Naturally we are going to lose some. No panicking here.

Thanks for the clear-up. I blew it out of porportion.
