The solution from within...

And-o can't help but think how Jose Theodore once carried the Habs to the playoffs alone (backstopping a roster far worse than the present one).

And-o can't remember the last time the Canadiens roster sported rookies the likes of Plekanec, Higgins, Perezhogin, Danis (and Komisarek is still pretty raw as well).

Sure And-o thinks that the Habs are not exactly a juggernaut on defense, but icing the likes of Markov-Souray-Rivet-Dandenault-Komisarek-Bouillon-Streit is not too shabby in terms of mobility, talent and offensive upside!

And-o doesn't see a lack of forwards capable of crashing the net for rebounds (Ryder, Zednik, Kovalev, Dagenais, Bonk, Begin and Higgins don't seem too shabby - heck, even Dagenais has a wicked release)

And-o also sees a few skilled playmakers...Koivu and Ribeiro for example.

And-o even sees a few solid role players like Sundstrum's checking and Bulis's versatility.

And-o thinks that the solution to the Habs present ailments could/should come from within!!!

This team should be able to get back on track.....otherwise, And-o will soon start to question strategy (aka coaching)...which I do think has been good...but not great!  For example, NO WAY should Toronto have a better PP than us...and NO WAY should the Habs EVER struggle on the PK with their speed!!!

Norskipaul rather liked And-o's post and thinks Ando has become quite the optimist of late. You gettin' some or what?

Nil d agrees with Norskipaul, and thinks And-o put up a lot of the positives that I - I mean Nil d - was looking for in barry's post from a couple of days ago.  Thanks, And-o;  Nil d feels better about this team now!  And Nil d hopes that Norskipaul's assumption turns out to be accurate.

Ando - more sage words from the veteran poster! You're right on every count -- now imagine what's going to happen when Theo gets back to the top of his game! Having him in prime form to back us up on nights when the team isn't at its best (as he did throughout the 2001-2003 seasons) could make for a pretty exciting year. And hopefully a verrry long one...

barry33 agree with and-o. We have a very young team that will only get better. Because of our age, we will suffer ups and downs. barry33 is very pleased with our record to date and feels that things will turn around. barry33, like And-O, would love to see us land a stud defenceman and a REAL second line center (not the imitation model weaing #71). barry33 alos knows that Bob Gainey sees this too and is waiting for the right deal/player to come along (also agree with and-o that BG had interest in Marchant but there was a "hands off" word out there amongst his peers).

I have confidence, not only in Julien, but the cast he has around him. We have some of the best hockey people in the league. Gainey, Savard, Jarvis, Rick Green.

NOHF still believes that the only missing ingredient on this team is Shania Twain dressed in her "little Habs uniform' she wore a few years ago. Not only would it get the Hab players mojo going, IT'S ONE HELL OF A DISTRACTION TO THE OTHER TEAM.  Maybe we can trade Youppi for her
