Back then I didn't have the luxury of having NHL Center Ice and watching him play, so I am wondering how much of a difference is there between the Theo of back then and the Theo of today. Could it be possible that he is somewhat the same goalie, but players and coaches alike around the league know his playing style and tendencies now and just use that to their advantage. Or do you think that the new style of the NHL has something to do with it, and Theo is just having difficulty to adapt. Whatever it is, there is something going on, I'm just not quite sure what that something is.
In my opinion it's kinda like what you see in Florida where Luongo looks great every night because he gets so many shots against.
When Theo won those tropies he was facing 35-40 shots per game. It kept him focused, his rebound control was much better and he didn't seem to be down all the time.
It also could be that everyone now knows to go upstairs with him.
