Last week's performance from the leaf's fans showed how little class they have.
The raising of Cournoyer's number was not only a tribute to Yvan as a Hab but also as a tribute to his pursuit of his passion for hockey. The leaf's fans are so myopic that they failed to realize that a man's personal achievements deserves recognition regardless of affiliation to any team.
But anyone can understand why the leaf fans showed so little respect...they have so little prior experience as to how to behave when it comes to ceremonies regarding retiring numbers, save for a handful of deserving players.
Only Sittler, Gilmour, MacDonald come to mind. Actually I don't know if their numbers are retired or not, only know they were pretty good.
Probably the best player in Belfour's mind are the goal posts.
David-ok enough i senough already!!!!!! We are far from a "laughing stock". We have 14 wins in the toughest diovision in hockey. Yes we are going through a rough stretch right now. But a "laughing stock"??????? I don't think so.

yes we are, but pls let me make myself clear. The point I am trying to make is look what has happened in a week. Unless im wrong the door mat of the NHL beat us tonight sorry u do not agree. Everyone is back except Kovy what happened to the heart of this team.
I don't think the Habs could duplicate this game tonight even if they tried. Maybe there is some hope in that. That first goal, terrible, set the pace for the night and it went down hill from there. Habs had 44 shots on goal but the 5 goals on 20 shots was really sickening. Lets hope they can pull one off against Atl on Tues. :blankstare

13 wins, but your point is well made. But dave has a point too. Even the latest wins were despite not playing well; you could just feel it was starting to fall apart. The Habs have not played well in their past 5 or 6 games. They miss Kovalev badly, are not getting the good goaltending, are being outhustled, and are thin on defense.

This team better wake up and start playing hockey soon. The standings are tightening up and Kovy still gone for another 6 weeks. He's not a saviour but where did the confidence go?
I think we all need to take a breath here! The team is still in good shape and has a string of a few bad games. Just remember how well they played that first game Kovy was out against FLA. We all knew we needed some more D and more consistent goaltending even then. Let's give it a few more games before we start calling for CJ to be fired, theo to be traded and the Bell Centre to be torn down!
Personally, I think Atlanta is the perfect team to snap our losing streak! Danis shut them out last time. One could argue it was the team's best effort of the season. So I'm looking forward to Tuesday night. I expect the team to come out flying because there's no way Julien will sit back and let his team fall. And anybody who isn't hustling out there, expect him to be benched next game!
here we go again taking a team for granted you know atlanta will take a rule from the playbook of the caps first periode hitting and taking it to theo/ danis
