What I don't like is a lack of EFFORT, for the full 60 minutes!  This team seems to only play hard when they want to, and that's bull.

Theo - We're stuck with him, he's our #1 whether we like it or not (I personally think he's very overrated and overpaid).

Ribiero - Get rid of him, he's useless.

Streit - Minors is the best attainable level for him.  Hainsey can't possibly play worse than Streit.

Souray - I'd love to see him sit, but we're very thin on defense, we're just going to have to hope he can play through this and get better eventually.

Dagenais - Minors for him at best.

Let's hope Gainey is on the ball, and does the right thing in the end.

*** Of course, all of the above is strickly JMO

Wow, we had something like 18 more shots than WSH in the third, and they scored.

As for Hainsey, as someone mentioned earlier, it's risky to bring him up without being sure he'll stay, because he'd have to get by waivers again if he's sent down. Since we might deal for a defenseman, that's risky. Anyway, anyone know how Hainsey's doing in Hamilton? Maybe he isn't playing well enough to justify being promoted.

wow thats two assists for streit in this game

That was a hell of a pass for Goal #5!  After he was bounced off the boards a few seconds prior.  Man, he is BAD.

Speaking of bad, the third period said it all: Habs outshoot Washington 19-1, and yet were outscored 1-0.  Jose Theodore and I made the same number of saves in the third period.  Exactly none! And yet his GAA improved!  Thank God for small mercies..............

Comments-

  1. Streit- sadly as good as we have right now. Souray? uhmm no. Hainsey? No. A reason he is in Hamilton. Boiullon cube? Adequate. Right now you Rivet bashers, Craig is as hood as we have, Which should tell BG something.

  2. CJ tried everything tonite as far as line combos. There comes a time where a lack of depth and talent shows...and it has been last night and tonite.

  3. Lack of finish- we are getting good chances but fail to bury them at key times. How many shots did Ryder have tonite? 30?

  4. Having said all this..I am sickened by the booing tonite at the Bell Center. No wonder guys like Kariya and Sellane do not want to play there. Here we are...14 wins..and being booed everytime we touch the puck. Nauseating to be frank.  I understand that fans pay their $ and are free to do what they want. But that display tonite  by the fans made me ashamed to be a habs fan.; And the way some of you have turned on our team on this board makes me feel the same.

As long as I have been a Habs fan, the booing has always been a part of the forum/ bell center. there is pressure when u play for the habs. i know there are players who may not want to come th montreal to play, but i do not see the booing slowing. u should have seen/heard boston fans tonight.  by the way sorry for no capitalization im down to one arm typing for a while

I have no problem with Rivet, I thought as ofI late heIs played better than Souray. I wish Souray would get back to the person we knew 2 years ago   rocket shot, stand tall d man  great pp quarterback.

This was an awful game to watch. It burned our eyes! The fowards did not play tonight...it's like they never came back from Jersey. Markov played very well tonight (along with rivet) it looked like markov tried to play D and Forward tonight! Too bad Bulis could not capitalize on his shots. We lost this game because the posts were in the way and bad lines! Change the lines Julien. What the h*** happened tonight

They better get off their collective a$$es and start playing some hockey. The standings are starting to tighten up. I notice the Laffs creeping up on us. Is this team waiting for Kovy to come back and save them? If they are it will be a loog dreadful 6 weeks.

I wonder when people in Montreal are going to make the connection between the booing and the fact that the Habs have been struggling for a decade.

One thing to demand excellence, another thing to be both ungrateful (13-5-3 for chrissakes!) and unrealistic (a third of the team in its first two years in the NHL): Danis, Perezhogin, Streit, Plekanec, Ryder, Komisarek, Higgins.

That said, I guess a mistake-filled 5-1 loss at home to the Capitals right after a loss to the Devils does deserve some boos.

Rookie goalie, 4-5 players with 2 yrs less experience, outshoot the opponents by a 2-1 margin and we think we played poorly?  Injuries all at once.  That 3rd period was insane.  19 shots, a few posts and some great saves.  Bad luck - don't blam Theo...stand out in the cold for 20 minutes then let me take one shot at you out of nowhere.  The biggest problem will be confidence.  Gotta forget this game and the rest of last week and continue doing the little things right.  We are ok.  Might not win 60 games, but we'll be fine for years.  We have such a great pool of players and top notch management.

7 of them actually, far as I can tell.

rookies: Higgins, Perezhogin, Streit, Plekanec, Danis

2nd years: Ryder, Komisarek
