Your lucky you posted this Andy, I was just about to start a new thread calling for someone to eat some crow. Guess I don't have to. SAKU! SAKU! SAKU! He's the heart and soul baby.
On another node, brutal 3rd period. As most of us have stated it's not only Sak who has to pick it up, it's the other lines as well.
Ribs was brutal this game. Put Pleks on as second line center and let Ribs ride 4th line duties. That line is a big (-) with Ribs on it. Check out Ribs and Ryders +/- and I don't blame Ryder for most of the (-)'s.
Good call, And-O! The way I see it is whether we love Saku or not, we all want to see the team play well, and Saku was a huge contributor to our win tonight. And what an effort on that goal with 4 seconds left in OT!! Without Kovalev, who's to say we would have beaten them in a shootout?
An all around amazing game by Koivu, and without him we wouldn't have won.
I don't think we have to worry about Saku not performing. He played a great game tonight-too bad some of the other players (hint-Ribs) didn't play the same way. I know Ribs is a good goal scorer but he forgets about the other aspects of the game. Don't want to dwell on the negatives-Saku scored the winner and we can now look forward to the next game.
Saku is the captain and leader of this team, great to see him give it all on the winning goal. A huge win for the Habs, especially after almost blowing a 3 goal third period lead . . . geez . . . they just don't make it easy.
