MONTREAL – Canadiens GM Bob Gainey announced Monday that goaltender Yann Danis has been recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.
Assigned to Hamilton on Nov. 9, Danis led the Bulldogs to three consecutive home wins last week; 2-1 against Binghamton (Wednesday), 5-1 against Cleveland (Friday) and 5-2 over Grand Rapids (Saturday). He allowed only four goals, posted a 1.34 goals-against average, and stopped 91 of 95 shots for a .958 save percentage.
Danis, 24, played in three games thus far this season with the Canadiens, posting a 2-0-0 record, a 1.50 goals against average and a .946 save percentage. The Lafontaine, Quebec native recorded a shutout in his first NHL game on October 12 at Atlanta (2-0).
