Begin, Bonk, Bulis could easily have 10 goals so far. Even Kovalev has trouble finishing plays...although he opens up so much space for others that we barely notice his blanks!
.....amazing how all of our weaknesses seem to pop-up versus Toronto (who is really not good at all).
I think it's pretty obvious why we lose to the Leafs. Take a look at Theo's record against the Leafs and it's quite self explanatory. The Habs dominated last night and Theo found a way to lose the game. A few defensive let-downs and the game was over. TO's whole game was defensive let-downs and Eddie was there to hold the fort.
Elite teams like Ottawa need a goalie to win, that's why they went and got Hasek. BG thought he had an elite goalie, I think not.
Geez John-o...I want to agree with you...Theo WAS just plain embarrassing on a few of those goals last night...but other nights Theo is great!
And-o and JohnM slug it out over the likes of Saku and Bonk...but our differences matter NONE when Theo gives up one or two softies EVERY big game!!!
I do think that most of the Habs need to attend "finnishing school"...but And-o just HATES seeing all of our guys play their hearts out only to see a floater hit the top corner with Theo in his butterfly BEFORE the shot is released!
...frustrating...but this team is continuing to gather points...UGLY points...but points!

Saku obviously doesn't need to go to Finnishing school; he's already Finnish!
I agree with you on the goal; Theo was on his knees way too soon - in fact with a shot that high, he shouldn't have gone to his knees at all. He's not the first goalie to have this "going down" tendency. Maybe barry33 or Johab could explain to us where this tendency comes from?

Nilsey- to answer your question regarding why Theo is on his knees so soon. It is all a matter of confidence and timing. When Theo is on his game and has his confidence (like he did the last 2 games pervious to Saturday) he is going down at the right time..i.e. When he KNOWS the shot will be low. Last night you could tell from the beginning he was not comfortable in there and his timing was off...so when you are not confident you over compensate and you go down too soon because that is where you feel the most comfortable as a butterfly goalie.
The problem is you cannot teach confidence. Melanson can work with Theo on technique and stuff but the confidence and comfort has to come from within. What baffles me is that Theo looks so good and has so much confidence one night and the next he goes right back to square one.

The pressure was on to win last night as it was TO and a retirement night and Theo CHOKED. The weakest part of his game is his head and it let him down again last night.
Habtastic
P.S. Even though it was only 3 of us and we lost, we had a great time at the reunion... let's make it 3 or more times as big next time!
Theo is on his knees more often than Jenna Jameson working a porn scene. I don't want to dump on the guy as he's exciting to watch when he's on and he DID single handedly win us a playoff series against Boston a few years back... It's just that we all know how good he CAN be that it's frustrating when he's anything less than spectacular.
