Firstly, I was worried when Magic Mario took a stick in the eye after Dadenault's follow through got him. I was hoping he would be OK as I'm sure he layed there scared for his vision. This was missed by Fraser and then he made it up later by giving Begin a game for his clean hit. I have to admit though that Begin probably knew that the hit would hurt him because it would be a head shot. I guess that is why we all love him ( gutsy player )!
For those that are still knocking Ribs! I think he is starting to find his form. Every time he gets the puck, he follows it up with a creative pass that leads to a scoring chance. He is also finding open ice to make these passes.
Koivu looking tired and not skating and passing like he did at season's start. I hope CJ can rest him more or we will have an injured Saks by mid season. This isn't to bash him as he has played great thus far, it's just fact on his playing history.
Crosby is the real thing and Theo had no chance on his goals!
I have been critical of Theo's play but he is starting to play well and not playing so high is his crease has been helping his lateral movement. He may start earning his money after all!
I was sad that Habs missed out on a point but happy that Pens earned two as they played well. I would love for them to make the playoffs.
One last thought: Will Gainey call up Hainsy? I hope so! I would like to see him play hungrier! He couldn't be any worse than Streit!

Pierre McGuire had it right last night when he questioned CJ's use of Streit on the point during so many power plays. Has anyone seen this guy do anything that merits his presence in the NHL? If I could've given him a ride to Hamilton myself last night I would've done so before the first period even ended. If he were a good stay-at-home d'man that would be one thing, but he doesn't fit that mold either. This guy needs to go "streit" to the minors.
In the meantime, the apparently bad injury to my golfing buddy Souray underscores the team's general shallowness on D. If I'm Bob Gainey, I'm already on the horn...
That was a clean hit, and the guy dropped his head and begin had no where to go. He was starting the hit and even the big liberal Pierre Mcguire agreed
Good post, but I have to disagree about Ribeiro. He does one or two good things in the WHOLE game. The rest of the time he is brutal, brutal, brutal. He needs a serious talking-to about his defense, effort, skating....don't know where to start.
