Before the CBA i thought the players were being completly unfair and they shouldn't even have a union anymore because they didn't need one to protect them. Boy was i wrong. The Toronto Maple Leafs have proven to me how having class is not high on their priority list with the way they have delt with Carlo Coliacovo. They send him to the minors back and forth when Toronto has a little rest in their schedule. In the end Carlo is cut out of 75thousand dollars, just for the leafs to save. Pitts is doing similar things with Fleury, Marc Andre has 9 games in the AHL 8 wins 1 loss and a GAA of around 1.4. With pitts it makes a little sense because they don't have much money to flaunt, but Toronto makes plenty of cash, there one of the few teams that were making a pretty decent amount of money before the cap was put into place. I sure hope to hell thats not what the Habs are doing with Danis now, i hope if hes there he's there to see some pucks then come back up.
Im not saying i agree with the players but i can understand where they are coming from. You would think that after the Owners complain that they are getting ripped off, and they were, they would be fair towards the treatment of players as too not start this whole problem up again, afterall thats how this whole problem began, players were getting ripped off, then the players were making too much. Now everyone is making money but for a team to try and save 75 thou is disgusting, especially when that team is profitable, and especially since to them 75 thou is nothing.
In a couple of years their may just be another strike or lockout unless the owners start to stop sending their players down just to save what to them is chump change.
