Habs not getting respect!!!
Permalink Closed

Well it has been a little while since I have been posting on this site and lots to read while I have been away.  The one thing tha bothers me is that our team cannot catch a break and everyone (media) is expecting the HABS to fall on their face it seems.  Seriously upsetting, I mean we have a Top Notch GM, Solid coach, and key players at all positions.  Some have been a little suspect at times this season but honestly when can we get a "watch out for these guys" or a Now this is a team to try and beat.  WINNING IS WINNING IN MY BOOK, no matter the goal spread.

Thanks guys that's about 1 month or more of pent up anger that I had to post.

I hear you.....Maybe the media are all related to TSN.....Seriously, it is annoying but keep the faith....we'll show them.  We all know that a lot of people love to hate the Habs, except us, of course.  Let's just enjoy the ride and don't worry about the Hab Boo Birds.

I was just thinking the same about our Habs. I told some Laugh fans the other day, if they had the start we have they would already being getting in line for the Stanley Cup parade! I did hear Bob McKenzie last night say the Laughs must get points from weaker teams like Wash. and steal a point on ocassion from better teams like Ottawa and Montreal. I think it's good we are flying under the radar right now. Especialy with a young team it's good we can surprise other teams. I really like our team and I think it will be a fun year...and an even better playoff!

I was driving in to work this morning (Nov 9) and on the FAN 590 the morning show had Pierre Maguire on as their "Hockey Insider".  Believe it or not, Pierre actually said alot of good things about the Habs.  You could have knocked me over with a feather.  He spoke about CJ and Jarvis being the most underrated coaches in the game.  He said that Koivu is playing better than he has ever played, the Koivu, Kovalev and Zednik line in gelling like no other line he has seen this year, AND Theo played his bet game yet last night.  However, Maguire never misses an opportunity to take a shot at the Habs, he spoke about the defense not having a number one, that Rivet and Markov are like 2a and 2b.

The Habs will start to get the respect they so rightly deserve when they start to get wins that are more than 1 point games. While I believe a win is a win is a win, i think some in the media who are used to crapping on the team refuse to take them seriously as long as they continue like this. I think that stinks, but I am a realist.

Well I am still around and always reading, but I tend to post in bunches and then not at all.  I guess I am like the Ribeiro of the board... post en mass for a couple of days and then disappear for weeks at a time!  Things are really busy right now, but I will try to be a bit more regular now that there isn't 25 new topics a day!  BTW Mario, I also prefer this style, as long as people control the amount of new topics they start.

WELL I MUST SAY......it is really nice to see this response to a post of mine for not having posted in a while.  Lot of new faces (duh....names) to keep up on I guess making it more spread out on here.  BUT yes the Style of board is very easy to follow Mario Good job as usual.

And you guys are probably right flying under the radar can be pretty fun.  But a storied team should get respect when due!!!
