I keep thinking to myself why we did not sign Koivu to a multi-year deal. Was it us or was it Koivu that didn't want to sign a long term deal. The new rules in the NHL is definitely suited to his game. We need to keep this guy for 2 or 3 more years. He is one of my favourite Habs on the team. I hope we keep him when the season is over. I think having Kovalev on the team opens ice for Koivu letting him produce the way he should.
In a 1000 years, I could not ever see Koivu playing against the Habs could you???? But there was a small former Habs player who went to ,was it Sweeden (his home land)and then played for the Bruins for one year. Am I dreaming or was that true?? I just cannot think of his name.
Just in case you are not being deadpan, I assume you mean Mats.
That's Naslund, of course, not Sundin (or Wilander!). He had a few great years with the Habs, including a 110-point season. He'd be a superstar with today's rules.
