Has anyone else noticed that we are a month into the "New NHL" (Good God, if Pierre Maguire says "The New NHL" one more time, I'll shoot the TV) and it seems as though the refs have started calling games "the Old Way"? The last few games that I have watched, and not just Hab games, there seems to be quite a bit of the stuff that the players have been taught since they were kids to do, that the league decided to call holding and hooking going on. Now, I'm not talking about obvious tripping or hauling guys down, but it is almost as though some of the refs are allowing players to take their man. I think that it has been a subtle change, but changing just the same.
I don't know, just my $0.02 worth.
